Market comparison brings The Hills Group to choose Bell loader
Leading construction materials manufacturer Hills Quarry Products Limited has purchased a machine from Bell Equipment for the first time, after a successful demonstration confirmed the reliability and performance of Bell wheeled loaders.
The award-winning Wiltshire-based company made its carefully considered decision to buy a Bell L2606E loader for the management loading and stockpiling of aggregates at its Shorncote quarry, at South Cerney, Gloucestershire.
“Any loader chosen for use by The Hills Group needs to be a strong work-horse, and a reliable machine,” said Bell Equipment’s national accounts manager, Robin Piper, “so we’re delighted that our L2606E has made the grade, and been incorporated into the firm’s 26-stong wheeled loader fleet.”
Andrew Liddle, Hills Quarry Products Limited’s production manager, explains more: “Our Shorncote quarry is a highly productive site, delivering an impressive 330,000 tonnes of aggregate material every year; so with such demanding levels of productivity we can only use truly dependable loading machinery - equipment that has the capability to perform and won’t let us down.”
The Hills Group’s research process in sourcing the right machine to load sand and gravel at the Shorncote quarry face was extensive. The company trialled models from four other manufacturers, including its traditional supplier, alongside the Bell L2606E loader, as part of the process to select a machine that could cope easily with the quarrying challenges presented.
Andrew says more: “The time was opportune ‘to check out the competition’ before selecting a particular replacement model and Bell Equipment was on our radar thanks to the efforts of Robin Piper in showcasing the company’s credentials.
“We were impressed with Bell Equipment from the start. Their level of commitment and service had notable strength, and the quality of their equipment was easily on-a-par with machines produced by some of the other ‘big name’ competitors. We added this to the considerable value of Bell’s L2606Es, in terms of the number of features included in the machine specification as standard, and it was clear that this machine has been produced by a quality supplier, is ideal for task, and has the potential to offer a superb return on investment.”
Bell has received the positive feedback regarding The Hill Group’s L2606E purchase enthusiastically, and adds the latest contract to an increasing portfolio of satisfied customers.
Nick Learoyd, managing director of Bell Equipment UK, confirms: “It’s great news that such a prominent company as The Hills Group has selected a loader from our range, against the strong competition that’s out there.
“We’ve heard satisfying reports that the quarry operatives are as pleased with the operational features of the L2606E, as the company management are with the loader in terms of its specification and performance. Feedback such as this is exactly what we want to hear, and gives us the confirmation that the machinery we’re producing is exactly what firms such as The Hills Group are looking for.”
