Savills confirms sale of waste management site

Savills is pleased to confirm that it has sold Valley Trading Limited’s waste management business and facility located near Tetbury, Gloucestershire. Valley Trading Limited was established in 1981 and has grown to be a local market leader with strong trading accounts. The business is situated on 8.9 acres and was privately marketed by Savills with a guide price in excess of £3 million.

The property, located on the Babdown Industrial Estate, in Babdown, Tetbury has planning permission to import, sort, recover and store waste and recycled material. Strong interest helped generate a firm price which demonstrated that there is good demand for such sites.

Portsmouth based Hughes and Salvidge Holdings Limited was chosen as the preferred purchaser. Hughes and Salvidge Holdings Limited is a parent company for Aasvogel, H&S Metals and K&B Crushers. The Valley Trading Limited business represents another recent significant acquisition by the company.

Brendan Kelly, associate for Savills minerals and waste management department, comments: “Our clients are extremely pleased with the sale of Valley Trading Limited’s land and business and the price achieved. The demand for waste facilities is growing and our extensive contacts and knowledge of the sector allowed us to identify an appropriate purchaser. The outcome is very encouraging for the waste sector and demonstrates that waste management users remain firmly in the market for suitable sites.”
