Acquisition for leading global manufacturer in ground breaking attachments
One of the world’s leading manufacturers of excavator attachments – Miller UK Ltd – has announced the acquisition of an Australian based earthmoving equipment and repairs specialist.
Following the success of launching Miller Australia in 2013, the company - recognised for supplying the safest most advanced buckets and quick couplers on the marketplace – has now acquired Victoria based New Generation Design Fabrication (NGDF) to significantly enhance its aftermarket capabilities and customer support in Australia.
Now known as Miller I NGDF, the strategic move allows the business to increase its stock availability and presence across a wider geographic area, as well as bolster its aftersales and customer support function with a dedicated site solutions facility in Melbourne for heavy plant and attachment repairs and refurbishment.
Speaking about the acquisition, James Ross, Commercial Director at Miller UK Ltd said: “We are delighted to have acquired NGDF as part of our tactical growth plans. And the move has seen one of Miller’s long-term employees, Sean Congo, relocate from the firms Northumberland base to head up the workshop facilities in Melbourne. Sean brings over 15 years’ worth of extensive experience of repairing and welding earthmoving equipment and attachments both at Millers dedicated site solutions facility as well as out in the field working in various sectors from construction and demolition through to quarrying and mining overseeing a multitude of applications.
Miller I NGDF workshop facilities located in Melbourne compliments Miller’s first facility in Sydney and houses state of the art hydraulic and welding equipment which will enable the company to significantly enhance its aftermarket service. Miller I NGDF has ambitious plans to invest further is these facilities and bolster staff numbers at the premises which currently already comprises a team of experienced technicians specialising in troubleshooting and providing strong aftermarket support.

Miller I NGDF will be supplying its quick hitches – GT series - and buckets to a range of markets from construction, mining and forestry through to waste, paving, industrial and landscaping. At the company’s bases in Melbourne and Sydney it will continue to deliver heavy plant and attachment repairs, whilst also supplying its extensive product range from this facility.
