Bobcat Launches New EVO Generation Rotary Telehandlers
Bobcat has launched the company’s new EVO generation of Stage IIIB/Tier 4 interim rotary telescopic handlers, providing a major step forward in the design of rotary telehandler products worldwide. The new EVO range from Bobcat comprises four models – the TR38160, TR50190, TR50210 and TR40250 rotary telehandlers, providing maximum lifting heights of 15.7, 18.7, 20.5 and 24.1 m, respectively.
The new EVO rotary telehandlers have been designed as easy-to-use machines, combining more comfortable and safer operation with the latest developments in the field and a wide range of new features, offering higher performance and increased productivity.
The TR38160 EVO model is powered by the Kubota V-3800 DI T 3.8 L 4-cylinder Stage IIIB/Tier 4 interim compliant diesel engine providing 74.5 kW (100 HP) of power at a rated speed of 2600 RPM. The new telehandler offers a maximum lifting capacity of 3.8 tonne and a maximum horizontal reach of 13.4 m.
The TR50190, TR50210 and TR40250 models are powered by the FPT-NEF Series 4.5L Stage IIIB/Tier 4 interim diesel engine with an output of 105 kW (141 HP). The TR50190 and TR50210 models both have a lift capacity of 5.0 tonne, whilst the TR40250 telehandler has lift capacity of 4.0 tonne. The maximum horizontal reach in the three models is 16.4, 18.0 and 20.5 m.
The 400o rotating capability of the TR38160 model and the 360o turntable rotation available in the TR50190, TR50210 and TR40250 telehandlers allow the machines to serve the needs of an entire site from just one position. Capable of being set up in a matter of minutes, the new EVO generation telehandlers offer exceptional stability for lifting heavy materials either vertically up to a roof or horizontally onto the edge of an excavated site, reducing construction time and costs and increasing safety and efficiency on site.
An auto wheels alignment feature, which is optional on the TR38160 model and standard on the other three models, allows the operator to easily change the steering modes – the three autoalignment steering modes provide excellent manoeuvrability, even in tight and difficult working environments. The stabilisers have both individual and all at once activation to ensure machine stability in all types of terrain. Full operation control for the stabilisers and position indicators are provided on the control panel.
Increased Comfort and Controllability
All four models have a new higher-mounted cab that offers outstanding all-round visibility. A larger back window opens up the field of vision to the rear of the machines, ensuring better overall spatial awareness for the operator. As well as excellent forward vision, the curved front window also provides better visibility of the attachment at height and the glass cab door ensures optimum side visibility when manoeuvring close to walls or other obstacles.
Designed with the operator in mind, the new cab provides an exceptional work environment that unites the excellent visibility with a high level of comfort for the operator. The steering wheel column and the comfortable and ergonomic pneumatic suspension seat can be easily adjusted to suit the operator. The cab also offers semi-automatic air conditioning for further operator comfort.
The Double Sensi-Touch Joystick controls have increased functions for the operator and improve productivity while maintaining safety and comfort. All important machine functions are displayed on the new control panel, which has a digital display offering a clear overview of machine performance. The ergonomic controls array ensures that all the main machine controls are within easy reach of the operator, providing an extra level of safety and controllability.
Can Bus Electronic Management
Bobcat EVO generation telehandlers take performance to the next level based around a new electronic architecture and advanced software which are key to all four machines. CAN Bus Management technology guarantees smooth and precise functions, with all boom and swing operations monitored by digital sensors located on the main components of the machine, providing total machine control and safety in all situations. The Boom Cushion system is a standard feature that allows the operator to concentrate on the job and forget about the machine limits, as it is self-managed by the system.
Self Diagnostics and troubleshooting keep the operator informed at all times on the machine’s status with boom position and capacity shown at all times, providing notifications of maintenance requirements, as well as facilitating service and repairs, saving time and money.
The configuration and parameters for a wide range of attachments are also stored as standard and there is an intuitive and user-friendly system for selecting work tools, allowing the operator to easily change between the large number of attachments offered. The new EVO Generation telehandlers are man platform ready for use with a choice of six different man platform attachments. The latter form part of a complete line of attachments for use with the telehandlers, including buckets, extension jibs, winches and pallet forks.
A wide range of options allows buyers to customise the machines according to their needs, including remote control; an anti-theft immobiliser; a carriage with hydraulic attachment lock; a cold start system and specialist options for tunnelling and underbridge applications.
