Case Grabs The Limelight At RWM 2012

Case Construction Equipment will show two of its latest machines at this year's IWM Exhibition, at Birmingham's NEC, each specifically designed to work in the materials handling sector. The line-up on Case stand will include the latest Stage 4 Interim compliant 821F wheeled loader and a WX240 Industry wheeled materials handler, equipped with a five-tine waste grab.

Low Emission Loader
The Case 821F wheeled loader boasts a 12% higher lift capacity and 17% more breakout force than the previous generation, yet delivers lower emissions and up to a 10% fuel saving. This remarkable performance has been made possible through the use of the latest Case Tier 4 Interim diesel engine.

With a rated output of 206hp (154kW), this 6.7 litre motor uses Selective Catalytic Reduction technology to meet Tier 4 Interim emissions standards, while delivering increased output and performance. The machine has the proven Case Cooling Module design, putting all radiators and cooling cores in the centre of the machine, out of the dust and debris that can be thrown up at the rear of the machine.

By positioning the engine at the rear of the chassis there is less requirement for counterweight, leading to the increase in breakout and lifting forces at the front end. Front and rear limited slip differentials, with the option of a front locking differential, ensure maximum traction into the pile, delivering improved bucket fill and faster cycle times.

An optional five-speed transmission with lock-up torque converter, contributes to greater driveline efficiency and lower fuel consumption in load and carry operation. In addition, the loader at the show has been modified by dealer Warwick Ward, to include red and white chevrons on the counterweight, a reversing alarm and a waste handling bucket.

Raising Performance And Productivity
The WX240 Industrial version is a dedicated waste handling model based on a wheeled excavator chassis. The machine has a hydraulically-raised cab, offering a 5.6m working height to allow operators to see into crushers and high-sided transport. Customers can also order the machine with a fixed height cab at either 8mm or 1,300mm.

The torsion-free undercarriage provides maximum support to the stabilizers, delivering a stable working platform in all operating conditions. The WX240 Industry is equipped with a 6.8m boom and a 5.2m dipper, providing a maximum working height of 13m and maximum reach of 11.8m. The machine at the show will be demonstrated with a five-tine waste grab, though it can be supplied with a wide range of attachments to suit various industry sectors and materials.

170 Years Of Engineering Excellence
Case will celebrate 170 at the forefront of equipment design and engineering this year. With the support of the UK's leading construction and industrial machinery dealer network, Case continues to innovate and lead the market. Visitors to the Case stand will see a range of equipment that harnesses the latest technology to provide maximum reliability and productivity, with low operating costs and ownership costs.
