Costa Coffee Recognise Their Waste Potential and Do Something About It

The global coffee brand confirms attendance to RWM...

RWM is just 47 days away and things are doing anything but slowing down. As the final touches are placed upon the event, huge brands like Costa Coffee have begun to recognise their waste potential and have decided to see what they can action about it.

Costa Coffee already have a strong reputation for being efficient with their waste, with not only their coffee cups being entirely recyclable, but also through to giving away used coffee grounds for free to asking customers and their roastery running off of nearly 100% renewable energy, with 0% of waste going to landfill.

Costa are just the latest brand to join RWM after the likes of Coca-Cola and Google Digital Garage already showed themselves to be aware of the benefits attending RWM will bring. Understanding the need for caffeine amongst all of the visitors, Eunomia will be providing a deposit and refund scheme for reusable coffee cups. This defence against damaging single use products combined with the clear and ambitious goals the event has set out are the reasons Costa couldn’t resist joining the biggest recycling and waste event of the year.

When we reached out to Costa, this is what they had to say: “Costa is delighted to be speaking at this year’s RWM Conference, updating the industry on our recent ‘recycling revolution’ announcement, where we have committed to recycle the same volume of takeaway cups we put on to the market by 2020. Everyday thousands more takeaway coffee cups are being recovered and recycled and Costa is financially incentivising waste management companies to join our scheme. We look forward to using the RWM platform to engage with this innovative audience and help increase the volume of takeaway cups being recycled.”

Department of International Trade will show RWM the future of trade
Government representatives will offer expert advice for global trading

Despite Local Authorities and SME’s being a targeted market for RWM, it still hasn’t forgotten it’s big players, and the inclusion of the Department of International Trade will meet the needs of the hugely influential companies attending RWM this year.

Being responsible for trade acquisitions and development outside the EU, DIT will be the perfect exhibitor for visiting representatives of globally trading brands, or those who wish to consider the potential growth of expanding into global trade.

‘This is a massive acquisition for RWM and something I’m incredibly excited for, purely to see the potential growth that some of these companies could see in the following year after meeting with representatives from DIT is a fascinating thought. We’re creating the true hub of innovation and opportunity for the recycling and waste industry.’ Nick Woore, Event Director.

Having the DIT attend and exhibit confirms that no stone has been unturned in the quest to make RWM the biggest, most relevant and beneficial event for businesses of all sizes across all sectors. This show is an essential date for many, but PRYSM have a vision for it to become essential for all.
