Develon celebrates first customer demo days

Develon, formerly Doosan Construction Equipment, has held the company’s first Demo Days event from 23-27 September 2024 at a new site in Milovice close to Prague in the Czech Republic. Over 600 customers and dealers attended Demo Days.

Develon continued the tradition of previous events, providing customers with a unique platform to try out the latest Develon machines in the excellent working conditions of the new Milovice venue. With a choice of over 25 different machines available, the very successful event gave customers the opportunity to try out some of the newest models and latest innovations in the Develon range.

New Innovations & Products at Demo Days 2024

Develon & Gravis Robotics

Among the highlights of this year’s event was the first demonstration of autonomous equipment from a new collaboration between Develon and Gravis Robotics. With roots in Switzerland, Gravis Robotics is a university-based start-up company with over a decade of experience in construction robotics. The partnership between Develon and Gravis Robotics aims to combine both companies’ expertise in AI-powered excavation and construction equipment technology to accelerate the development of safe, productive, sustainable and predictive autonomous excavation solutions.

The new collaboration is working on autonomous machine projects at Develon, to bring the next generation of autonomous excavators to market faster. To achieve speedier commercialization, the partnership is combining the technology and innovative solution approach at Gravis with the mechanical engineering expertise and customer base at Develon. In addition, by having a development partner in Europe, Develon believes it will be easier to meet the requirements and customization needed for European customers.

Develon & Leica Geosystems

Also appearing for the first time was a new aftermarket 3D machine control solution for the Develon DX225LC-7X ‘Smart’ crawler excavator, jointly developed by Develon and Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon. The DX225LC-7X excavator features Full Electric Hydraulic (FEH) technology and an integrated 2D machine guidance and machine control system as standard equipment. In order to enhance this efficiency, the two companies have worked together to offer the Leica MC1 3D machine guidance system as a retrofit, specifically engineered to integrate seamlessly with the Develon 2D sensors and calibrations on the DX225LC-7X.

Develon Enters European Dozer Market

Develon has entered the European dozer market with the launch of the new DD130-7 model, which was shown for the first time at Demo Days. One of the biggest differences between the DD130-7 and other dozer brands is the visibility the DD130-7 provides of the machine’s dozer blade. To facilitate this, the front engine compartment offers a narrower design and this is combined with several other features to make it easier for operators to see their work.

Unrivalled Choice of Products to Try Out

Other new machines that were available for the first time at Develon Demo Days included:

The new DX10Z-7 1 tonne zero tail swing mini-excavator, which provides a significantly improved performance compared to the previous DX10Z model it replaces, as does the new DX19-7 1.9 tonne conventional Stage V compliant mini-excavator. Complementing these, the 2 tonne DX20ZE-7 electric mini-excavator combines low-noise and zero emissions with the features and performance enhancements that are found on the next-generation DX-7 Series family of mini-excavators.

Other machines on show included the latest versions of the Develon crawler excavator range up to 53 tonne and the Develon DL-7 wheel loader range. The updated mid-range machines in the DL-7 range were represented by the DL250-7 model, presenting new features soon to be available throughout the DL-7 range. Completing the array of firsts at Demo Days were the new DL80 and DL85 compact wheel loaders from Develon.
