enfinium signs long-term fuel supply agreement with REMONDIS to supply three energy from waste facilities

enfinium, a leading UK energy from waste operator, has today announced the signing of a new fuel supply agreement with REMONDIS, one of Europe’s largest recycling and waste management companies. The agreement will support three of enfinium’s state-of-the-art facilities in West Yorkshire in managing unrecyclable waste and generating reliable, homegrown power.

Under the agreement, REMONDIS UK will supply 10,000 tonnes of residual waste each year to enfinium’s Ferrybridge 1 and 2 and Skelton Grange energy from waste facilities in West Yorkshire, rising to 20,000 tonnes annually from 2027. Together, these facilities process up to 1.86 million tonnes of unrecyclable waste annually, with the potential to power around 440,000 homes.

The agreement marks the beginning of a new relationship between enfinium and REMONDIS, creating opportunities for the two businesses for further collaboration in the future. Headquartered in Germany, REMONDIS is one of the world’s largest recycling, waste management services and water companies, operating across Europe and internationally.

The new agreement will further strengthen enfinium’s long-term fuel supply, supporting the safe and efficient management of unrecyclable waste, avoiding climate-damaging landfill and enabling the continued delivery of reliable, homegrown energy. Across its UK fleet, enfinium diverts around 2.7 million tonnes of waste from landfill each year, generating enough electricity to power approximately 600,000 homes.

Wayne Robertson, Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer of enfinium, said: “This agreement with REMONDIS marks the beginning of an exciting new partnership between two major players in the European waste management sector. Our state-of-the-art energy from waste facilities provide a reliable outlet for residual waste and we look forward to building on this agreement and exploring further opportunities to work together in the future.”

Dr Valentin Sommer & Mr David Coulter, Directors REMONDIS Ltd, commented: “REMONDIS is committed to delivering reliable, sustainable solutions for managing residual waste and ensuring material that cannot be recycled is put to the best possible use. enfinium’s high-quality facilities and strong operational track record make them an excellent partner, and we look forward to building on this agreement and exploring further opportunities to work together."
