enfinium welcomes new apprentices for a dedicated three-year programme

enfinium today announces the arrival of its 2023 intake of apprentices who will undertake a dedicated 3-year programme that combines academic study and practical workshop training with on-the-job experience at enfinium operating facilities.

The apprentices will spend the first 12 months at the CATCH training facility in the Humber, before undertaking a two-year placement of on-the-job training at one of enfinium’s sites, in West Yorkshire, West Midlands and Kent, learning from enfinium’s experienced engineers and technicians.

The course will train the apprentices in three disciplines: mechanical, operations, as well as electrical and instrumentation engineering. Apprentices that successfully complete the 3-year programme and pass their technical examinations achieve formal diploma qualifications.

All four of enfinium’s 2022 apprentices have now successfully completed their first-year training at CATCH and have now started on-the-job training at enfinium facilities Ferrybridge 1 & 2, in West Yorkshire, and Parc Adfer, in North Wales.

Mike Maudsley, Chief Executive Officer at enfinium, said: “Our apprenticeship programme is an opportunity to welcome new talent to the business, develop energy from waste industry engineering skills, while enthusing our existing workforce with new opportunities to better themselves. Our partnerships with CATCH provide an unrivalled suite of training opportunities that marks our commitment to investing in long-term talent development.”

James McIntosh, Chief Operating Officer at CATCH, said: “We are proud to be delivering the enfinium apprenticeship programme, and play our role in helping them build their future workforce. It is fantastic to see an employer like enfinium investing in skills and apprenticeships and giving young people the opportunity to forge a career in our industry. The apprenticeship programme is a part of our wider strategic relationship with enfinium, as we also work in partnership to deliver their managed training service for existing operators and technicians across the UK to ensure they have the right skills and competencies.”
