Engcon launches free Tiltrotator test drive
Engcon, the world’s leading manufacturer of tiltrotators, is offering a free test drive on one of its fully specified Generation 2 tiltrotators at the Construction Training Academy (CTA) in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The half-day sessions include a pre-drive training presentation, one-to-one in-cab instruction, followed by hands-on experience during a 45 minute test drive.
Engcon’s ‘no obligation’ test drive gives excavator owner/operators the chance to find out more about the latest tiltrotator systems and the potential benefits for their business, as Robert Hunt, Chief Executive of Engcon (UK), explains: “Just as you wouldn‘t buy a car without test driving it first you can now you can put an Engcon tiltrotator through its paces and see for yourself how it can transform your excavator into a highly efficient, multi-tasking machine that can work in previously out-of-reach places.” Serving as the excavator’s wrist, the versatile attachment lets the operator twist, tilt or rotate the bucket (or any other attachment) enabling an excavator to carry out jobs it simply couldn’t do before. Rotating the bucket makes tasks like backfilling and offset digging quick and easy, while tilting allows grading to be carried out precisely and in tight spaces.
The CTA Test Centre is equipped with a high specification Engcon tiltrotator system. The fully integrated solution includes Engcon’s Q-Safe quick coupler with triple safety system and the newly upgraded Engcon EC-Oil, which enables automatic hydraulic and electrical connection of hydraulic tools and attachments. This unique combination makes it quick and easy for drivers to switch attachments directly from the cab for optimum safety and efficiency. Completing the tiltrotator test package is Engcon’s DC2 proportional control system. Operators can connect their smartphone to the DC2 via Bluetooth and switch between up to four different operator profiles and tools or enter speed settings. Once connected, operators can access Engcon’s remote support via a smartphone app to enable troubleshooting and machine calibration to be carried out remotely and immediately, dramatically reducing machine down-time.
Summing up, Robert Hunt says establishing a dedicated Test Drive centre is just another example of Engcon’s commitment to the UK market. “In addition to this facility, we’ve recently made a significant investment in a new UK sales, service and spares operation, boasting an expert team of five and have also just launched the country’s first certified tiltrotator training scheme.”
