Jack Moody Plant Hire Achieve Maximum Productivity with Terex Environmental Equipment’s Medium Speed Shredder

Jack Moody Plant Hire recently took delivery of Terex Environmental Equipment’s (TEE) revolutionary TDS V20 Medium Speed Shredder, from UK Distribution Partner, Molson Green.  Part of the Jack Moody Group which was founded in 1963 and with Head Quarters in Wolverhampton, the company has developed to become one of the UK’s leading experts in the construction, maintenance and environment industries. In response to the growing need for environmentally friendly alternatives to landfill disposal a specialist Recycling Division was established in 2001 seeing the company process waste wood to produce a clean biomass fuel.

After securing a local contract to supply biofuel, Jack Moody Plant Hire had a requirement for a machine to shred waste wood generating a controlled product size whilst achieving maximum productivity. Thomas McKiver, Sales Manager for Molson Green commented “We were delighted to have the opportunity to demonstrate the TDS V20 for Jack Moody Plant Hire and having discussed the requirements we were confident the machine would deliver the desired results”.   Robert Moody, Managing Director of Jack Moody Group commented, “We were impressed by the approach taken by Thomas and the team at Molson Green, they listened to our requirements, worked in conjunction with the Terex Environmental Equipment (TEE) applications department and came fully prepared to carry out an impressive demonstration”.

The TDS V20 is testament to TEE’s drive to shape the waste processing industry for years to come and is the result of a hugely successful partnership between Terex and leading German Shredder manufacturer Vecoplan. The industry first mobile medium speed shredder combining replaceable sizing screens, an intelligent tramp protection system and a highly accurate cutting action allow the machine to generate a controlled product size with the added benefit of minimal fines. The reduction in fines and the controlled piece size enable waste wood processors to remove unnecessary screening equipment and oversize reprocessing systems, increasing production and greatly reducing operational costs.

Robert Moody continued, “We looked at a number of different shredders available on the market however after seeing the TDS V20 first-hand and its capabilities working in a waste wood application we could fully appreciate the benefits it would bring to our company. It produced the 80mm biomass product needed for the contract in one pass with minimum fines content. 250-300 tonnes of finished product is produced daily when typically it would take 2 to 3 machines to achieve this. The added confidence that the tramp relief system is in place protecting the shredder chamber from unsuspected contaminates will save our company a lot of money and downtime. Large metal is usually quite minimal however, should a piece get into a conventional shredder it results in thousands of pounds worth of damage not to mention machine downtime”.

Molson Green has the expertise and infrastructure to provide outstanding aftermarket service that is required in this competitive market place, giving Jack Moody Plant Hire the support required to maximise production and minimise downtime.Thomas McKiver added, “With the TDS V20 being manufactured in new state of the art production facilities in Dungannon, Northern Ireland which is also home to the global spare parts distribution hub, customers can rest assure downtime will be minimal as spare parts are readily available”.
