JCB loadall takes a bow in hollywood as oscars come to town
A JCB Loadall telescopic handler has been playing a leading role in Hollywood…. ensuring the most glittering event in the global showbiz calendar all runs to plan.
Preparations for the 88th Academy Awards are now in full swing as stars prepare to take to the red carpet for the ceremony on Sunday night. Greeting them as they arrive at the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard will be giant versions of the statuette they all hope to go home with – an Oscar.
And lifting the bigger than life-size versions into place around the theatre has been a JCB 512-56 Loadall made for the North American market at JCB’s World HQ in Staffordshire. Able to lift to heights of 17 metres (56 feet) and handle weights of 5.4 tonnes (12,000lbs), the Loadall made light work of putting the 24-feet high statues into position. The miniature versions coveted by the stars stand just 13½ inches high and weigh just over 3.6 kgs (8 lbs).
The machine is owned by Alliance Rental Solutions, of Valencia, California, which specialises in providing equipment to the studio industry in Los Angeles. The Loadall was snapped hard at work by their eagle-eyed employee Erick Campuzano.
JCB Salesman Robert Lara, Sales Manager for JCB dealer JCB of Southern California sold the machine to Alliance Rental Solutions. He said: “Alliance Rental Solutions are one of our most important customers and it’s fantastic to see their JCB Loadall playing such a high profile role in the preparations for this year’s Academy Awards.”
