Landfill operator Enovert acquires waste management specialist Highfield Environmental Limited   

Landfill site operator Enovert has confirmed its acquisition of Highfield Environmental Limited, the specialist landfill and composting services provider based in Billingham, North East England.  

The addition of Highfield Environmental Limited to the Enovert Group increases the range of specialist disposal services Enovert is able to provide and follows Enovert’s acquisition of ABC Power Solutions, the UK’s leading gas engine specialists, earlier this year. 

Established in 2003, Highfield Environmental operates two sites, located close to Middlesbrough at Teesport and Cowpen Bewley. Highfield offers secure disposal of hazardous, non-hazardous and non-biodegrade waste to landfill, as well as composting of a range of biodegradable wastes and handling of suitable site restoration materials. Its facilities are strategically located to provide services to businesses across the region.

The sale process was managed by Deloitte LLP’s Birmingham-based Advisory Corporate Finance team led by Director, Andy Moody and including Partner, Darren Boocock, Assistant Director, Alex Watts, and Associate, Abigail Hyde with legal advice provided on the sale process by Shoosmiths LLP, led by Partner, Dan Shilvock.

The multidisciplinary deal advisory team at KPMG UK acted on the investment on behalf of Enovert  led by Will Griffith associate director in UK’s corporate finance team who said “this investment will enable Enovert to add capacity and geographic coverage for hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal, and it further cements their position as a key player in the industry”. The Enovert Management Team was advised by KPMG M&A (Will Griffith and Giles Taylor), KPMG Transaction Services (Chris Stott, Emma Rhodes, Sarah Harding), KPMG Tax (Louise Warne, Barbara Bell, Zak Hawley).
