New Nihot machine does Stirling job for recycling firm in Scotland

Matpro Machinery has recently supplied Wood Recycling Scotland Ltd with a new Nihot SDS 800i air separator.

The Stirling based company, who process recycled timber for use in the board mill industry, required a machine to remove heavy, foreign material such as hardcore, ceramics and metals from their feed stock.

The new Nihot SDS uses air, combined with drum technologies, to separate light from heavy material. It stands out on its class by using negative pressure and thereby optimising separation efficiency.

It comes equipped with an integrated dust filter, electrical cabinet and retractable outriggers and the whole unit fits entirely onto a semi-trailer or into a 40’ container.

Prior to buying the machine, Matpro Machinery guided Wood Recycling Scotland Ltd in their choice of solution by enabling them to initially send material to the test facility at the Nihot factory in Amsterdam.

The company arranged a trip to the factory so that Wood Recycling Scotland Ltd could witness the material being tested and finally arranged for them to trial the machine on their own site, with their own material.

A one week trial ensued where input and outputs (both heavy and light fractions) were weighed pre and post process.

The new machine provided much better separation results than other machines and also a much cleaner material split than the previously utilised water bath, with a lot less upkeep.
