Parnaby Cyclones celebrate a successful open event
Hub-4 recently attended a highly successful Parnaby Cyclones 2-day open event which was held at the Dovesdale Farm site of Wm Hamilton & Sons Ltd. The Scottish event was attended by a large number of visitors from the industry who were all keen to see the Parnaby Cyclones machinery solutions.
Parnaby Cyclones is a family-owned business which has designed and installed washing plant and equipment for the Mining, Quarrying, Mineral and Recycling Industries all over the world since 1973. With an international reputation for excellence and company care it provides a comprehensive service including consultation, design, manufacture, installation and after-sales service and maintenance.
On show at the event was the Parnaby Mobile 5-20 Barrel Wash Module and the One-Tip Feeder solution and a chance to see the 80-100tph coarse material wash plant and effluent treatment which was installed on-site in July 2025.
After a video introduction by Ian Parnaby guests were shown the plant in operational mode.
Parnaby Mobile 5-20 Barrel Wash Module:
The Parnaby Mobile 5-20 Barrel Wash Module operates through a multi-stage process designed to effectively separate and clean aggregates from waste streams. The three primary process steps are the introduction and initial separation of the mixed waste, the dynamic washing and tumbling to liberate organic matter coarse material, and the final dewatering and classification of the cleaned fines. The Parnaby 5-20 Barrel Wash
Module is a highly adaptable modular system that suits difficult layout requirements and varied feed streams. (Subject to material analysis)
Typical feed material includes, skip waste, C&D, sand & gravel, road sweepers, gully waste, and contaminated soil.
The key features of the Parnaby 5-20 Barrel Wash Module are:
- Max 30tph dry feed
- Mobile/Modular design
- Adaptable site layout setup
- Multiple feed options
- Max 50m³/hr liquid feed
- Low downtime maintenance
- High quality filtrate
- Fines cleaned twice
- Road transportable
- Maximum 100mm particle size
There are four feed line options which include the standard option of an integral screw feed hopper, or an integral vibro hopper or belt hopper. The fourth option is the one-tip solution which is an additional ‘bolt-on’ to the feed line which is perfect for road sweepings and single-tip drops.
Output products offer a +10mm aggregate, 4-10mm aggregate and less than a 4mm sand.
5-20 Module Configurations & Options:
There are three configurations which consist of either, a basic module which is the 5-20 Natural Medium Barrel only with product dewatering screens. An Enhanced Fines Separation includes a 5-20 Natural Medium Barrel followed by a Natural Medium Cyclone or Classifying Cyclones with product dewatering screens. A third configuration offers a complete Processing Module which consists of a 5-20 Natural Medium Barrel followed by a Natural Medium Cyclone and Classifying Cyclones, with product dewatering screens. All of the above systems combine to produce a multistage density separation solution.
Two options are available for Effluent Treatment: either a 6M or 4M diameter Thickener utilising either a Belt or Plate Press Filter. All slurry material is pumped to the Thickener where it is treated with flocculant, the slurry mixture is then stirred and transferred to either the Belt or Plate Press with any liquid removed and collected in the tanks.
One-Tip Feeder Solution Overview:
Offered as a ‘stand-alone’ or ‘bolt-on’ feed line option to the 5-20 Barrel Wash Module the One-Tip Feeder is a robust compact system which is built for the surge load which is convenient for all phases (Liquid & solids discharge & washing down) of the tipping process. A consistent performer which offers three outputs of oversize (+100m), feed stockpile (3-100mm), and slurry feed (Liquid and <3mm solids),
Any material too large for the system is pre-screened (>100mm) with any excess liquid also being screened and collected. A Vibro Sizing Screen is used to control material prior to system entry which improves efficiencies. A second Vibro Sizing Screen above the Slurry Collect Tank (used for storing the slurry, via a pump system) is used to separate solids from the liquid slurry. A conveyor belt is used either for stockpile or to deliver material into the feed hopper of the Parnaby 5-20 Barrel Wash Module.
Overall, the two-day event was a total success with a Parnaby 5-20 Barrel Wash Module sold on the first day.
Adrian Parnaby – MD, commented “It has been very successful for us, the products have created a lot of interest. The Parnaby team have all played their part in the presentation.”
