Processing old wood and rubble
Manufacturers to showcase versatile shredder and screening systems at RecyclingAKTIV...
The RecyclingAKTIV trade fair, to be held from 5 to 7 September 2019, will present a wide range of machinery and systems for recycling valuable substances from plastic, scrap and metal to wood and biomass. Old wood in particular is a highly valuable resource that is available in large quantities and can be recycled or used for energy depending on the quality. Rising disposal costs and greater awareness of environmental issues have seen it gain further importance. Another increasingly relevant topic is rubble recycling, which links the event to the TiefbauLIVE trade fair taking place at the same time. Large quantities of construction material are already being recycled on site today. A preview of the products for wood and rubble recycling that will be on show in Karlsruhe is included.
Shredding and chipping with a single machine
At the wood and biomass special theme area, Komptech will present its two shredders: the Axtor 4510 and the new Terminator Type V. The Axtor is a universal wood shredder that can both shred and chip, making it suitable for processing both wood and green waste. In shredding mode, it uses free-swinging tools to create material for composting. In chipping mode, fixed tools produce the perfect biomass fuel for heat plants. The machine can be precisely tailored to processing various materials, from old wood, logs and residual forest wood to bark and green chippings. The new Terminator Type V is one of Komptech's most versatile new products, and can be used to process a wide range of materials. It can handle household and commercial waste, biomass like green chippings and shrub cuttings, as well as old wood.
Optimised professional shredder with permanent magnet
The powerful VZ 950 professional shredder from Arjes has been constantly modified and optimised since its launch last year. At RecylingAKTIV, the company will present the results of this work. The redesigned machine does away with the cross belt and longitudinal magnets at the discharge. Instead, there is a height-adjustable permanent magnet fitted as standard above the discharge belt that effectively removes ferrous components. This version of the shredder was developed for processing waste, old wood, green cuttings and minerals. The company will also showcase the VZ 950 Titan. This twin-shaft shredder packs a punch with 768 hp, and is capable of processing rootstocks, truck and tractor tyres, along with concrete rail sleepers and large lumps of demolition waste.
New motors for greater power
Doppstadt will use RecyclingAKTIV to present the latest version of its AK series of mobile shredders. Alongside adjustments for compliance with EU stage V, all models have been given an extra power boost. These are accompanied by a new, fully lowerable rear belt. This gives the user easy access for regular servicing of the flail drum, tools or grinding basket. It also features a new cooler control with added cooling power.
Complete wood processing system in action
Hammel Recyclingtechnik and Stoevelaar Recycling BV will demonstrate a wood processing system live in the wood and biomass special theme area, consisting of a slowly running primary crusher, a Morbark 3400 grinder and an Ecostar 7000 disc screener. The crusher pre-shreds the old wood, before it is ground further by the following systems and screened to grains of 80 to 10 millimetres.
Alongside Doppstadt, Hammel and Komptech, there will be many other companies demonstrating their products live three times a day in the wood and biomass special theme area. These will include JCB, Kölsch, Lindner, Neuenhauser and Skan Craft. On show will be machinery such as crushers, screens, shredders, feeding units and dust binding systems.
Mobile crusher systems for recycling construction material
Partner companies BMD-Baumaschinendienst and Schwab will showcase their new RA 900T recycling system in Karlsruhe. It is the largest tracked jaw crusher in the 24-tonne class and features a dual power system. The crusher for stone and rubble is perfect for transportation on a 3-axle low-loader trailer. Its simple touchscreen control, error diagnosis system and digital maintenance protocol memory ensure continued effectiveness. Alongside this, BMD will present its RA 700/7 for crushing rock and old construction material. Its dimensions, overall weight and weight distribution are coordinated so that it can be easily transported on a 3-axle roll-off tipper.
Moerschen, together with its partner Bau Süddeutsche Baumaschinen Handel, will present products like the compact Moerschen crush-bear J-750 jaw crusher.
Terex Finlay will present the updated version of its J-1160 jaw crusher, along with powerful conveyor systems.
The brand-new SBM Remax 200 from Kurz Aufbereitungsanlagen packs more power in a more compact package, and will be in action at RecyclingAKTIV. This compact, electrically driven impact mill weighs 23 tonnes and has an infeed of one metre. It features a discharge chute and a top-mounted motor.
Kurz will also showcase the Anaconda DF410 screening machine and its modified, twin-shaft Arjes 250 Evo double jaw breaker, with its redesigned shafts and quick-change system.
Making recycling easy with screens
Rising landfill costs are leading to a rethink when it comes to rubble. Screening systems allow users to process and largely re-use the rubble and natural products that arise during construction on site, helping to save costs. The new LS24 screening system from Xava Recycling can be fed with a compact loader weighing up to four tonnes and is ideal for processing soil, compost or gravel.
BHS Innovationen will present its recycling screens for construction materials at the demonstration trade fairs. Based in Dresden, the company focuses on keeping things simple. Its machines do not feature any hydraulics, conveyor belts or tracks. At a time when qualified staff are hard to come by, BHS machines are designed for ease of use and a long service life. While the SBR 2 is mainly aimed at recycling businesses using wheeled loaders with a shovel volume of around four cubic metres, the SBR 3 is designed for those with around one cubic metre.
The SB screening bucket from Skancraft can be used to both collect material like rubble and separate it into fine, loose and coarse components. The separator is also suitable for processing soil. It can separate and loosen wet, heavy and cohesive soils. The screening range can be adjusted for very sandy soils (grain size 0 - 15 mm) all the way to use in soil stabilisation (grain size 0 - 70 mm).
