QuaX get Active with Hatz for the new Submersible Power Pack

QuaX, the pump division of Burton based Active Engineering, have designed and built a brand new 3H50 power pack for industrial submersible pumps.

The power pack, which was formally unveiled at the recent Hillhead exhibition, is powered by a Hatz 3H50TIC engine, ready to drive 4” and 6” hydraulic submersibles.

Hatz 3H50TIC is a 3 cylinder Diesel engine that is fully compliant with the current emission regulations both in the EU and USA and is part of the H50 family that will meet the stringent EU Stage V regulations from 2019.

The 3H50 power pack produced by Active Engineering is part of their QuaX pumps range. It is very compact and fitted with a 24 hour diesel tank. The power pack also features automatic high oil and low level shutdown, making it safe to run unattended. The complete unit is mounted on a skid with fork pockets and a safe lifting lug enabling easy movement around a site.

The QuaX range of power packs is well-known in the pumping industry; they are designed specifically to power their line of submersible pumps. The new 3H50 power pack will complement their existing range of 10, 20 and 35hp power packs.

Commenting on this new development, Active Engineering’s Allan Boast said, “Hatz GB have been very helpful to us in producing this power pack. We have matched our hydraulic system to the Hatz engine to make this great new unit. In addition, we are also very pleased to note how quiet the unit runs.”

“We have used Hatz engines for many years and we know that they are well liked in the construction industry,” added Allan.
Active Engineering is a highly experienced pump manufacturer, during the last 20 years they have designed and built over 1000 pumps for a demanding range of environments. Based in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire inside a 5000 sq. ft. modern industrial unit, the company manufactures high performance pumps which give long service in the most arduous conditions.

Hatz diesel engines have been around since 1910. From their manufacturing base situated at Ruhstorf, Germany, Hatz produce a range of modern diesel engines from 3 to 55 kW. Their UK subsidiary, Hatz GB Limited, has its facilities centrally located in Hinckley, Leicestershire.
