RWM Hits the Two Month Countdown!

Excitement and curiosity grows for the Industries biggest event...

After all the excitement from the National Recycling Awards, it was time to get back to work as RWM is just under 70 days away and there is a tangible feeling of excitement for the event everywhere you look. Having the best networking opportunities at the NRA event meant that RWM was able to meet and bring on board Brighton & Hove City Council to speak at the event regarding their amazing work with the Freegle initiative. Prysm would not have been able to meet these groups or bring them onboard were it not for events like NRA, and we hope this is a shining example of the benefits attending events can bring.

With an amazing list of visitors having already registered for their tickets, RWM is making good on its promise of providing a hub of relevant information for its business and local authority target market. Alongside these amazing registered attendees, RWM is proud to announce that Head of Sustainability Nick Brown from Coca-Cola European Partners will also be attending the event and leading a talk in one of the seminar halls.

The diversity of visitor shows the wide spread relevance of recycling and waste management across all industries, and really reflects the growing interest in becoming more efficient in this area. Below is a short list of some of the confirmed visitors, to give you a taste of the quality of visitors coming to the event:

Representatives from 200+ local authorities, Royal Mail Group - Group Head of Environmental Programmes, Jaguar Land Rover - Waste Director, Royal Bank of Scotland, Environment Agency, Viridor - Director, SUEZ - CIO & Procurement Officer, Biffa Group, Veolia, Grundon Waste Management, Eunomia Research & Consulting, British Chamber of Commerce

In order to make sure you’re apart of this national shift in mentality, register for your free tickets at rwmexhibition.com and find out just what your company or community could be doing to better their local and national environments. National Recycling Awards Host a Fantastic RWM Sponsored Event
RWM joins an industry to celebrate success

The management team from RWM had a fantastic time at the National Recycling Awards. Prysm is incredibly proud to have sponsored the event after recognising the need to celebrate an industry as rapidly developing as the waste industry is. Prysm were impressed with the quality of work being done by all of the nominees, and even more so with the winners who were then asked to be apart of RWM.

Prysm always seek the limelight to show how everything the company touches evolves and grows. Event Director Ahmed Pearce was the unexpected star of the show, but he is very much the star of RWM. The atmosphere within the awards auditorium is the environment Prysm thrives in, and it has been within that same atmosphere that the fantastic RWM show has been pieced together. If people didn’t know who Ahmed is by now, then after NRA everyone knows the name!

Prysm would like to congratulate the fantastic Bristol Waste Company for their Slim My Waste Campaign of the Year, Simon Ellin from The Recycling Association claiming the Editors Award, O’Donovan’s Waste Removal for winning the Health and Safety Initiative Award and to Brighton & Hove City Council for winning the RWM sponsored Local Authority Initiative award for their work with Freegle. Prysm hopes that the winners continue to inspire the industry to innovate, and RWM will recognise these innovations with it’s own Innovation Awards for exhibitors at RWM.

Bristol Boasts Best Practise
Councillor Kye Dudd confirmed for keynote speech at Recycling and Waste Management Expo

At the beginning of its build at the turn of the new year, Prysm Group made it abundantly clear that local authorities would be a key market for RWM event, given how recycling and waste management affects our communities more and more. Being based in Bristol, and recognising the work that Bristol is doing to change its environment for the better, Prysm is proud to announce that Councillor Kye Dudd will be hosting a keynote speaking slot to discuss the Slim My Waste Campaign alongside a representative of Bristol Waste Company.

Kye Dudd is a Labour Cabinet Member on the Bristol Council for energy, waste and regulatory services. Having him speak at RWM this is a fantastic example of how our city councils are starting to take the quality of our city environments more seriously. Kye Dudd will not be the only member of the British political profession to make their presence known at RWM, with former Labour MP and member of the Environment Audit Committee also featuring on a panel discussing the future of the United Kingdom’s environmental policy. Given the UK’s slacking attitude towards its national waste targets, and the pressing need to improve its recycling and waste management due to factors such as China ceasing the import of waste and Prime Minister Theresa May vowing to remove all plastic in the country by 2042, Prysm’s RWM event and the rest of its environmental portfolio is a fantastic place to start finding the solutions to these problems.

The Slim My Waste campaign was the proud winner of the Campaign of the Year at this years National Recycling Awards. RWM sponsored the event that saw the entire recycling and waste industry come together to celebrate and highlight the pioneering work being done with an industry that affects everyone on a daily basis.
