SPRIDER Asphalt Revolution

Sprider Asphalt Application System converts an ordinary tipper truck into a complete asphalt / aggregate application system in just 15 minutes. The Sprider M25, which is capable of work rates on hand laying of up to 30 tonnes per hour, this allows you to achieve significant cost savings on hand work, paver loading and difficult to access application sites. Furthermore, the system has the following benefits:

  • Even and consistent distribution and placement of asphalt.
  • Reduction in man power on laying crews by up to 50%.
  • Faster than a paver or traditional hand lay on irregular or restricted access work sites.
  • The Sprider system allows faster setup of application on the jobsite with no wastage of material
  • Faster and significantly more accurate loading of pavers than traditional methods
  • Sprider hot box body can hold asphalt at 140 Celsius for over 12 hours as proven in UK at 0 Celsius ambient. Asphalt is presented in excellent thermal conditions many hours after production 
  • Application of asphalt 5m from roadside at 30 degrees elevation or downward angle.
  • The Sprider system can also be used for laying aggregates and trench reinstatement.
  • New two section asphalt  body allows base course and topping / wearing course to be carried in the same truck and applied separately through Sprider

There are two models of the Sprider M25. The M25S is available with a 4.6 m or a 5 m arm, which will give you a 40m2 or a 48m2 working area. The model M25E is available with a 4.3 m or a 4.6 m  arm, which will give you a 32m2 or a 40m2 working area. The Sprider’s movements are precision controlled by a specially designed remote control unit. The same remote control unit can be used to control the truck movement from the outside, if it is equipped with ReCoDrive.

BDS (Yorkshire) Ltd has just placed a significant order for two Sprider M25 and three CMT asphalt bodies for their fleet this was after extensive demonstration and evaluation of the system and clear demonstration of its operational and financial advantages
