Terex Environmental Equipment launch TDS V20 Medium Speed Shredder

Terex Environmental Equipment (TEE) are continuing with their aggressive development strategy by launching another new machine. The TDS V20 medium speed shredder is a truly unique machine in the mobile shredder market and is set to revolutionise the way accurate end products are made from waste material. TEE have worked in partnership with German static shredder manufacturer, Vecoplan, drawing on their vast shredder experience to create this exciting new product.

Traditionally customers have used slow and high speed shredders to create reusable end products from waste. The slow speed shredder reduces large items and adds protection from contaminants while the high speed shredder gives the final required product. The TDS V20 combines both these principles and allows an end product to be created in a single pass.

The double shaft shredder has a powerful independent hydraulic drive, replaceable cutting teeth and an end product sizing screen. The sizing screens are available in a variety of sizes and are supported in working position by an intelligent protection system. Should contaminants enter the machine the protection system allows the sizing screens to rapidly drop whilst commanding the shafts to stop. Large side access service doors can then be lowered hydraulically to remove the contaminants. The shredder is designed with minimal clearances on all moving parts ensuring a precise cutting action rather than a shredding action, allowing for efficient and accurate processing. This medium speed cutting action ensures the creation of  unwanted fines is kept to a minimum and that end products meet the required specifications. The TDS V20 is ideal for processing difficult materials such as wood waste, green waste, domestic waste, industrial waste, roots, logs and stumps and is particularly suited to producing RDF or SRF.

The machine is powered by a variety of Scania DC13 500Hp engines, depending on geographical location, is equipped with a user friendly colour display and an auto reversing variable pitch fan. Tracked mobility and rapid setup time allow the machine to easily moved around site and transported.
