Terex Finlay gearing up for new product launch at Bauma
Northern Ireland based Terex Finlay is looking forward with confidence to further market growth across Europe as it approaches its 50th year in business.
Cone Crushers
The company, which is part of the world-wide Terex Corporation, plans to use the forthcoming Bauma exhibition to launch its new C-1540 Cone crusher which will compliment its already impressive range of mobile crushing, screening, washing and recycling equipment. Prototyping at the end of the year, the track mounted C-1540 Cone Crusher will offer customers a complete range of Jaw, Impactor and Cone crushers from Terex Finlay and will be built to the same exacting standards commonly associated with Terex Finlay machines.
As Nigel Irvine, Sales & Marketing Director for Terex Finlay reveals the development of the new Cone means Terex Finlay can offer customers total solutions.
"The addition of the Cone makes us one of an elite number of manufacturing companies offering a complimentary and complete crushing and screening range."
Terex Finlay which employs over 350 people at its manufacturing centre in County Tyrone was founded by John Finlay who is widely regarded as the pioneer of the mobile screening concept. Established almost 50 years ago the company exports to over 80 countries worldwide and distributes and services its products globally through an established dealer network.
The company, which prides itself on its focus on innovation, has seen dynamic global growth across its product range in the past five years, with European sales accounting for over 60% of the business.
Gordon Dunn, Product Manager for Terex Finlay attributes the success of the company to a number of factors.
"Our research demonstrates clearly that alongside our reputation for innovation, a major point of difference for us in the marketplace is the robustness of our products and the resultant high residual values they generate. We have many examples of machines still being used after 30+ years.
"The company was founded and developed on the principle of supplying reliable, productive and cost effective machinery designed around customer’s needs. This philosophy is still as true today as it was then." says Gordon.
Jaw Crushers
The J-1175 Jaw Crusher leads the Finlay Crushing range. Fitted with a 1070mm x 760mm (42" x 30") crusher chamber and a heavy-duty undercarriage, the J-1175 is highly regarded for its strength, durability and its exceptional on-site mobility. A heavy duty vibrating grizzly feeder with automatic control to regulate the feed into the crusher, Hydrostatic drive and reverse action to assist in clearing blockages, are all major features of this unit. Its compact size, ease of transport, and quick set-up times makes the Terex Finlay J-1175 unit ideal for contract crushing and demolition/recycling applications.
Impact Crushers
The I-1312 Impact Crusher has a hydrostatic drive, advanced electronic control system and hydraulically assisted apron setting. The Impactor is renowned for its high throughput and large reduction ratio, rapid set-up time, durability and on site mobility.
The Impact Crusher range has been complimented by the I-1310 and was officially launched at the 2006 Intermat show in Paris and is aimed at the quarry and recycling sectors.
Fitted with a 1000mm x 1000mm (40" x 40") Impactor chamber, the I-1310 is mounted on a heavy-duty undercarriage for ultimate strength and on-site mobility. Incorporating a hydrostatic drive system, this provides continuous monitoring and accurate control of the rotor speed.
The standard version has a hopper capacity of 5m³; an 8m³ feed hopper option is also available incorporating hydraulically folding extensions. Constructed of 10mm wear resistant liners walls the hopper also includes an integral pre-screen.
Positioned below the crusher chamber is the under crusher vibratory feeder which discharges onto the 900mm product conveyor belt. This feature makes this model ideal for recycling applications.
The I-1310 is also fitted with an advanced CANBUS compliant electronic control system. The 5 simple operating modes and graphical user interface all add to the simplicity of use. Of robust design and construction the I-1310 weighs in at 34 tonnes and is powered by a CAT C9 engine; its compact size provides ease of transport and rapid set up time. Further options include an overband magnet, belt weigher, radio remote control and optional by-pass conveyor.
Currently prototyping in Ireland is the new I-1310RS Impact crusher, the single crushing, screening and stockpiling unit on one chassis. This comprises of a heavy-duty vibrating grizzly feeder with integrated pre-screen and under-crusher vibratory feeder to prevent belt damage and incorporates a 12’ x 5’ (3660mm x 1520mm) screen which feeds oversize material back to the hopper via the recirculating conveyor. Another key feature is the advanced electronic control system which ensures user operation is as simple as possible.
With almost half a century of experience in the quarrying, aggregate and recycling industries and a reputation for engineering excellence, owners and operators are confident that Terex Finlay has a solution for their assignment, however large or small.
