V-SWEEP™ System Speeds Trailer Unload & Cleans Floor

An innovation recently introduced by KEITH is expanding the unloading capabilities of the V-FLOOR® WALKING FLOOR® system. The steel V-FLOOR® system has been long valued for its ability to unload highly abrasive materials. Now, paired with the V-FLOOR® unloader, the KEITH V-SWEEP™ system can be used to unload difficult, high density materials that do not clean out well with a traditional tarp system.

The inverted “V” shape of the steel V-6 or V-9 slat absorbs the energy of impact loads, making it ideal for unloading scrap, aggregate and asphalt. The unique design of the V-SWEEP™ system allows it to form to the flooring, cleaning material out as the trailer unloads.

The KEITH V-FLOOR® system is a versatile alternative to traditional unloading systems. Trailers safely unload horizontally, eliminating the hazards of tipping. Operators see faster unloading times using the system, improving efficiency by getting them back on the road quickly. It boosts backhaul opportunities and helps eliminate contamination between loads.

The sweep system is powered by the moving floor and travels at the same speed as the material it unloads. The bulk materials’ weight on the tarp pulls the sweep with the load. A retrieval system, which is hydraulically operated, returns the V-SWEEP system to the front of the trailer. The hydraulic sweep system is powered by the same prime mover wet kit that moves the floor.

KEITH offers a variety of sweep systems, including the CleenSweep® tarp system designed for lighter weight bulk material.

WALKING FLOOR technology is a horizontal loading and unloading system. Because the trailer unloads horizontally, there are no height restrictions outside the height of the trailer. Trailers can even be unloaded inside buildings. A WALKING FLOOR system eliminates the dangerous issues associated with trailer roll-overs or overhead hazards, such as power lines
