Farnham Tool Hire Excavator Fleet Now Exclusively Bobcat
Since being acquired eight years ago by the current owner, Farnham Tool Hire, based in Farnham in Surrey, has continued to expand, offering a hire service to trade and private customers alike, ranging from garden and landscaping equipment to plant and construction tools.
During that time, the compact excavator fleet at Farnham Tool Hire has grown from three units to 18 machines and is now comprised exclusively of Bobcat micro- and mini-excavators, all supplied by Bobcat of London, based in West Thurrock in Essex, the Authorised Bobcat Dealer for London and the South East.
Farnham Tool Hire bought its first Bobcat excavators six years ago and now offers a wide choice of models for hire from 1 to 3 tonne. The latest additions to the fleet - a new Bobcat E26 2.6 tonne machine and four new E25 2.5 tonne mini-excavators follow on from the purchase of four E19 compact excavators in 2015 and E10 and E16 units in earlier years.
All of these models are part of the latest E-generation of machines from Bobcat designed to provide an unmatched combination of class-leading breakout forces, working range, smoothness of workgroup functions, hydraulic output and fast cycle times, centred around a roomy and comfortable operator environment, durability and excellent service access.
Company Owner, Darren Worsley, said: “We have always found the Bobcat E-series of excavators to be high-performing and dependable machines for the rental industry. When this is added to the exceptional service offered by David Sawicki and the rest of the team at Bobcat of London it is an unbeatable package for us.”
Operator comfort and ample entry space have always been a very important feature of Bobcat compact excavators and the incorporation of the same spacious cab as that used on the 3 to 5 tonne machines, ensures that both the Bobcat E25 and E26 models do not compromise on these features. Designed according to the latest comfort, visibility and space standards, the cab is equipped with heating and is radio/MP3 ready as standard.
Contributing to the high reliability of the E25 and E26 mini-excavators is are the 4-plate box design for the workgroup, high resistant DCPD covers and ‘quick lock’ hydraulic connections. The 4-plate box design reduces weight in the workgroup which, together with weight being added at the back of the excavator, has made it possible to move the centre of gravity towards the rear of the machine and increase stability.
The increased stability ensures that the E25 and E26 compact excavators do not require an additional counterweight when configured with the optional long dipperstick used on all the excavators at Farnham Tool Hire.
This increases the working range while still limiting the weight of the cabbed long arm versions to 2700 kg to allow them to be transported by trailer (maximum towable weight, including trailer: 3.5 tonnes). The maximum digging depth of the E25 and E26 models is 2582 mm, with a maximum reach at ground level of 4553 mm and a maximum dump height of 3057 mm.
