Finlay Group marks launch of EPS Ltd with introduction of mobile fines clean-up system

With a history in the materials processing industry spanning over 40 years, The Finlay Group is consolidating a range of new and existing equipment ranges, personnel and services into a new company.
Environmental Processing Solutions (EPS) has been created to provide bespoke material recovery solutions for the recycling industry. EPS Ltd will consist of two new sales team for the north and south of England and Wales under the management and excellent engineering support of The Finlay Group of companies. Together with a wide range of exciting new and existing mobile equipment, EPS Ltd are capable of providing bespoke modular solutions from concept, to delivery and installation.
The launch of EPS is marked with the introduction of the flagship Proflow DST, a mobile fines clean-up system to treat Trommel fines, MRF fines and other mixed waste streams modelled on the classic three-way split recycling screen.
The Proflow DST is part of a new range of mobile material processing solutions to mixed waste applications together, which is complimented with the long established Allu range of screening, shredding and crushing attachments.
Rik Kiddle, sales and marketing director at Finlay Group, said: “EPS has been developed with the demands of the recycling industry in mind, providing bespoke systems which deliver significant economic and environmental benefits.
“This new company will build on our existing success in the sector and will address the high demand for solutions to treat skip waste trommel fines, C&D waste and MRF fines in order to reduce material going to landfill.
“EPS will also provide systems that tackle the recently introduced minus 10 per cent loss on ignition threshold for material going to landfill without incurring the higher landfill tax.
“It’s an exciting new launch for us and we intend to further expand EPS in the future and develop its existing product lines within a wide variety of applications processing skip-waste, C&D waste, MRF, compost, landfill remediation and bio-waste.”
According to Chris Bell, sales engineer at EPS, the flexibility and performance of the Proflow and Allu plant – coupled with the service and support package for clients that is the hallmark of the Finlay Group’s business - will together provide a winning combination.
Chris said: “EPS will provide a route for the recycling industry to get the best solutions for their own business – and whether the solution is an Allu bucket, a Proflow DST or a bespoke design and build plant, we will work with our customers to trial, prove and develop the process beforehand.
“The systems in the Proflow and Allu ranges offer an exception fit in the recycling sector and enable us to offer a complete package that will constantly evolve to meet the demands of the recycling industries.
“Since we’ve been dealers for the Proflow range of equipment we’ve seen the plant really prove its worth out on recycling sites with a number of highly successful installations.
“At the core of the range of equipment is the Proflow DST, the tracked version of the successful Proflow DS Flip-Flow screen and air density separator.
“This machine builds on the tried and tested design of the 3-way split recycling screen and adds integrated air density separation to ensure combustible contamination is removed.
“We’re incredibly happy with this plant. The forward facing Flip-Flow screen followed by an air density separator is a configuration that lends itself to a great number of applications throughout recycling and material handling industries.
“A major benefit is that the machine can be easily adjusted to suit customer’s requirements, which means that when we’re faced with a problematic waste stream such as MRF fines or contaminated waste streams, we can conduct trials on site with minimal commitment from the customer.
“We’ve also seen Allu go from strength-to-strength in the recycling industry and its exciting, flexible configurations, coupled with space-saving capabilities, have seen it join Proflow in the EPS mobile product range.
“Of particular note has been the success of the new TS range within the Allu product line. This allows users to switch ‘grid’ sizes on site and has the option of fitting shredding hammers for bark, food-waste and other materials such as plasterboard.
“It’s been really well-received and demand for the already popular attachments has increased dramatically.
“We are seeing a real benefit for those customers with limited space such as skip waste businesses or MRF facilities that want to screen material without the outlay or yard space demanded by a mobile or static screen.
“Also, the wide range of applications made possible by the screening, shredding and crushing options within recycling, compost, bio-waste applications mean they fit perfectly with the Proflow range.”
EPS will operate within the Finlay Group, which offers services including crushing and screening, recycling, conveying, washing, soil stabilisation and contract washing.
