High-Pressure, High-Temperature Slide Gate from Vortex
Vortex Global’s patent-protected TPV Slide Gate valve is designed to address high pressure applications up to 100 psig (6.8 barg) and high temperatures up to 660° F (350° C). The TPV Gate is engineered for extremely abrasive applications, yet requires minimal maintenance over the life of the valve.
The Vortex TPV contains no polymers or elastomers, which can become problematic at high temperatures. The ductile iron housing, the stainless steel piston rod, and the air gap between the body and the air cylinder reduces the transfer of heat to the air cylinder making it ideally safer for high temperature applications than ordinary valves.
Vortex’s patented rising-blade technology that uses lifting lugs ensures an optimal seal and a positive material shutoff. The metal-to-metal seal keeps the beveled blade in contact with the seat while opening or closing. This design prevents the blade from jamming or packing material upon closure in the full bonnet, which can cause downtime.
The thin profile of the TPV makes it an ideal replacement valve for bulkier bullnose knife gates and butterfly valves. Unlike most knife gate valves, the TPV contains a replaceable, stainless steel seat that can significantly increases the service-life of the valve. Other features include spring loaded blade guides, double-acting air cylinder, mounting boss for an optional proximity switch, and a standard purge port to keep material out of the body and in the material flow stream. The TPV is designed to withstand in gravity flow conveying, or dilute and dense phase pneumatic conveying applications.
The TPV Slide Gate is part of the Vortex Titan Series product line to handle highly abrasive material such as cement, clinker, coal, fly ash, sand, gravel, glass and limestone. Titan Series valves incorporate several design features to minimize downtime and increase process efficiency.
