John Wade Group adds a Kramer Telehandler to its fleet for waste handling duties

The waste management division of the County Durham based John Wade Group has recently added the first Kramer telehandler to its fleet of mobile plant.

Having operated a pair of Kramer 850 wheeled loaders since 2013 for handling waste at its Aycliffe Quarry site, when the time came to replace an ageing telehandler at Drinkfield waste transfer station at Darlington, the company had no hesitation in opting to replace it with one of Kramer's 3507 model compact telehandlers.

Supplied by local Kramer dealer Kevin Walker On Site Plant Services, the 3507 is now used every day of the week to handle and load a variety of dry recyclables as well as green and construction waste products.

The company describes the work involved as arduous but, after just a few weeks on site, machine operator Malcolm Tate said: "For its size, the 3507 digs and pushes like a dream and is a real pleasure to operate with excellent all-round visibility, an easy to use joystick control for front end functions and an air conditioned cab."

Operations director Bruce Whitley added: "We really like Kramer's 4-wheel steering system which allows precise and safe manoeuvering in the confines of our waste sorting building at Drinkfield and adjacent household waste site."

Mr. Whitley also likes the versatility provided by the 3507 which is mainly used as a fetch and carry machine but, with an ability to lift 3.5 tonne to a maximum height of 7m, can also easily load trailers when required.

The machine is powered by an economical and high torque Deutz diesel engine developing 90 kW (121 hp) driving through a variable hydrostatic transmission and features load-sensing work hydraulics and intelligent driver-assist systems.
