Keeping critical equipment moving

In quarrying, recycling and bulk materials handling, downtime rarely affects just one machine.

An excavator stops loading, a loader can't feed the plant, or a tracked machine is taken out of action – and suddenly a relatively small component issue can have a much wider impact on the operation.

That is why getting the right replacement part, repair or maintenance solution matters.

For more than 35 years, Plant Parts Ltd has been supporting businesses running heavy equipment, with particular experience across quarrying, recycling, construction and other demanding applications.

When the right part isn't always obvious

Older machinery, different specifications and discontinued components can all make sourcing more complicated so identifying exactly what is required isn't always as simple as finding a machine model and ordering a part.

Plant Parts combines more than three decades of industry experience with access to the FDC database, containing more than two million OEM and replacement part numbers linked to individual machines.

The team can work from machine details, part numbers, dimensions, photographs or technical information to help establish what is required – particularly where the original component is difficult to identify or no longer readily available.

Plant Parts has direct access to 4M+ parts, covering more than 150 machine brands and a wide range of tracked and wheeled equipment, many parts are available for SAME DAY DISPATCH – this shipping turnaround is what keeps Plant Parts customer’s machines earning.

And when a machine is sitting idle, time matters.

Getting the correct component identified and on its way quickly can help maintenance teams get on with the job and equipment back into the working cycle.

Sometimes replacement isn't the only answer

A machine may still have plenty of useful working life left, but finding a replacement component can become increasingly difficult as manufacturers change specifications or parts become obsolete. In these situations, repair, reconditioning or an alternative component can provide another route.

Plant Parts' workshop supports the repair and reconditioning of components including final drives, swing drives and hydraulic motors.

The company is also the only Bonfiglioli Approved Repair Centre outside Italy and operates under a ZF Service Partner Agreement, bringing additional manufacturer knowledge into the repair and supply process.

Putting repaired components to the test to ensure performance

One of Plant Parts' more recent developments is The Rig, a purpose-built hydraulic motor testing facility for hydraulic motors. For equipment operating in the dust, vibration, heavy loads and long working cycles associated with quarrying and recycling, knowing that a repaired component has been tested can provide useful reassurance.

The facility uses an electronic dynamometer to test motors under controlled loads, allowing repaired units to be assessed before they return to work, further strengthening their commitment to the highest possible service and confidence levels for their customers.

Supporting equipment for the long haul

Quarrying, recycling and materials handling equipment is built to work hard – and often to work for many years.

Established in 1991, Plant Parts now supports customers in more than 100 countries, drawing on decades of experience across heavy equipment and the components that keep it moving.

Supporting that equipment therefore isn't simply about supplying a replacement when something fails. It can mean helping identify a difficult component, finding an alternative for an obsolete part, repairing an existing unit or providing the specialist knowledge needed to make a practical maintenance decision.

Experience matters when the straightforward solution isn't always available. Whether it is identifying a hard-to-find component, repairing an existing unit or finding a practical alternative, the right support can help keep essential equipment working and operations moving.
