Norfolk recycling firm quadruples skip hire operation following machinery investment
Freedom Recycling’s investment in new recycling and construction technology has seen its wood and waste processing capability increase to 700 tonnes per month.
The recycling industry is growing rapidly, so the business has had to adapt its 50,000-tonne facility at Hockwold, Norfolk to meet increasing demand. in just a decade, Freedom has more than quadrupled its skip hire operation.
To meet this demand and make its processes more efficient, Freedom invested in a Pronar recycling shredder and SANY excavator.
The new MRW 2.85G shredder now processes around 100 tonnes of wood every week and 100 tonnes of waste every day. The SY75C excavator has replaced a manual shovelling process and feeds hundreds of tonnes of waste onto the hopper every week.
Paul Boyle from Freedom Recycling said: “Our business is multi-faceted and fast paced, so we need powerful, versatile and robust machinery to ensure we consistently support the businesses – and our customers - along the chain that rely on our services.”
Jason Purllant from Global Machinery Services who supplied the machines, said: “Seeing how Freedom Recycling is benefitting from the excavator and shredder is brilliant, which highlights how investing in new technology can reap dividends.
“Freedom Recycling had very specific requirements and I’m delighted the Pronar shredder and SANY excavator are delivering exactly what they need.”
Paul continued: “We’re an important cog in the growing construction and recycling sectors so having the right equipment is extremely important. I am delighted how Global Machinery Solutions have helped us achieve this with our shredder and excavator - and grateful for their continued support.”
