UNTHA UK bolsters senior sales team with experienced mobile plant specialist
UNTHA UK, the country’s leading supplier of industrial shredding systems, bolsters its strategic growth capabilities with the appointment of senior sales consultant Paul Martin.
With more than 20 years of experience across the mobile plant industry, Paul Martin brings an extensive skillset to the firm’s latest significant appointment. Beginning his career as a home-based mobile engineer at Volvo Construction Equipment, Paul undertook the company’s Introduction to Management Programme and achieved a Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management from the Institute of Leadership & Management.
He went on to lead the Yorkshire region as area sales manager for eight years, further strengthening his commercial acumen and deepening his understanding of customer needs on the ground, before stepping into the waste sector last year.
An instrumental part of UNTHA UK’s growing sales team, Paul joins fellow senior sales consultant Jason Valentine to accelerate the business’s outbound strategy nationwide. With a clear geographical remit in place, Paul will support eastern organisations while Jason will lead engagement across the west.
Commenting on his appointment, Paul said: “What attracted me to UNTHA UK was its unwavering partner approach. Beyond boasting a strong reputation and high-quality engineering capabilities, the business is deeply committed to helping customers solve problems properly, and empowering them with long-term thinking that goes beyond the obvious.
“The waste sector is evolving fast, and customers want partners who understand the commercial realities on site – not a siloed supplier that simply wants to tick a sales quota. Working alongside Jason, with a neat east–west split, gives us the space to be closer to customers and more proactive in how we support their growth and operational goals.”
Marcus Brew, managing director at UNTHA UK, adds: “Our continued growth reflects one simple yet significant truth: customers value trusted expertise as much as high-quality equipment. As waste streams become more complex and expectations around recovery, compliance, and return on investment increase, the role of sales has shifted from transactional to advisory, ensuring every facet of operations is geared to maximise value.
“With a new, highly experienced and technically astute sales consultant in our ranks, we’re perfectly positioned to have those deeper, more strategic conversations on how to turn complex waste challenges into measurable commercial and environmental outcomes.”
UNTHA UK counts British coin manufacturer The Royal Mint among its most notable clients, which uses a trio of UNTHA RS30 shredders to help recover precious metals from e-waste and transform them into luxury jewellery. Building on such projects, the team continues to apply real-world operational insight to its product development roadmap. With a programme of machine development already underway, including one new shredding system and updates to two established models, UNTHA UK will present its latest innovations at IFAT in May.
