WCL Quarries expands haulage fleet as customer demand rises

WCL Quarries enters the second phase of its long-term investment plan, following its recent purchase of a brand new Scania P360 Grab Tipper. With over £500K already invested in its fleet expansion in 2016, the Midlands-based quarry now boasts a 10-truck strong fleet, to meet customer demands.

Mark Deadman, Director of WCL Quarries, said: “We’ve seen an upturn in the construction industry across the Midlands area, and we’re experiencing a higher demand for that ‘end-to-end’ solution. Customers want more of a complete service; the ability to remove inert waste and deliver aggregates has proven to be a cost-effective and more sustainable approach.

“The expansion of our fleet allows us to offer the sought after ‘complete’ service to our customers right across the Midlands area, and further afield. And now due to the warmer weather, we’re able to process more quarried materials, offering and delivering a wider range of products in a more cost-effective and coordinated way.

“The Scania P360 Grab Tipper is a robust piece of kit with great manoeuvrability due to the easy-handling grab. Joining a further nine Scania trucks, operations across all three of our sites have increased, and we’re confident we’ll continue to meet industry demands and inject further growth into our business, and our customers’.”
