Bitumen

Bitumen is an oil-based, solid hydrocarbon product. It is commonly used within the construction of roads and for the waterproofing of selected surfaces.

Bitumen is produced through the removal of lighter fractions from dense crude oil. This occurs during the refining process and will typically see liquids such as petrol and diesel separated.
