Description
Bunting specialises in the separation, detection and recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Magnetic Separators separate ferrous metal from non-magnetic materials. The designs vary according to the application and installation. Overband Magnets (permanent and electro) are suspended over conveyors, lifting and removing ferrous metal from transported materials such as aggregate, household refuse, demolition rubble, and other waste materials. Bunting’s lightweight and compact ElectroMax Overband Magnet enables superior separation of ferrous metals.
Magnetic Head Pulleys replace conveyor head pulleys for continuous and automatic removal of tramp metal and metallic ore. Magnetic Head Pulleys produce the magnetic field using either permanent magnet or electromagnetic coils with optional rubber lagging for specific applications.
Electromagnetic or Permanent Drum Magnets suit applications in arduous environments or with challenging separation objectives such as in mineral processing, mining and recycling.
After ferrous metal separation, Metal Detectors detect any remaining metal such as non-magnetic manganese steel (e.g. digger teeth). The TN77 Metal Detector, designed specifically for the quarrying sector, is an industry-standard, identifying metal that could cause costly damage to crushers and screens.
Eddy Current Separators recover or separate non-ferrous metals. Bunting has different designs, including both concentric and eccentric magnetic rotors, to suit specific non-ferrous metal separation objectives, whether that is a focus on recovery or removal.
After separating non-ferrous metals, the patented high-intensity SSSC or HISC Magnetic Separators recover fragmented stainless steel and weakly magnetic materials.
For high specification mineral processing applications, separating paramagnetic and weakly magnetic minerals, Bunting has a range of high-intensity magnetic separators including the Rare Earth Roll, the Induced Roll Separator, and the Magnetic Disc Separator.
At Bunting’s UK Customer Experience Centre, a team of experienced processing technicians conduct controlled material tests on Magnetic Separators, Eddy Current Separators, and Stainless Steel Separators. The tests confirm separation capabilities.
Bunting’s website provides further information on a wide range of separation equipment and services.
