Collins Demolition reach new heights

Collins Demolition have just taken delivery of their first high reach machine – a Volvo EC 380E HR and a brand new Rotar RSS20 Scrap Shear.

This first high reach machine comes fitted with a brand new Rotar RSS20 Scrap Shear.  The new excavator and scrap shear were showcased at ‘Live It. Dig It’ Show in the Midlands recently and its first job will be in Chester on a steel framed building, three stories high right in the town centre.

The Volvo comes with full Volvo factory specifications.  Its tool weight capacity is 3 tons and it has a 23m reach.  With an extendable undercarriage and digging arm, which can be easily changed over to from the high reach arm, it also features a tiltable cab and is fully guarded with bolt on side protection and water dust suppression.

Collins Demolition has excavators ranging from 6 to 75 tons.  They are all Volvo, their preferred excavator manufacturer since 2004.   To work with these they already have a wide range of Rotar grabs, shears and pulverisers, all purchased within the last 5 years from Worsley Plant, the UK’s leading attachment specialist.

This new piece of equipment gives the company another string to their bow.  Previously they hired in a high reach excavator if they needed one on a job.

Scott Craddock, Director says: “Owning our own high reach strengthens our demolition offering and will help us to cut costs associated with hiring one in.  It is a welcome addition to our continually expanding range of equipment and we are looking forward to the next one."

"We have also added to our range of Rotar attachments with the new Scrap Shear. We feel that the Rotar range are perfectly matched to our Volvo fleet, along with Volvo,  Rotar demolition attachments are the best on the UK market and we wouldn’t look anywhere else.  They are robust, powerful and extremely hard working.”
