Doosan confirms details for five new Compact Wheel Loaders

Following the signing of an exclusive supply agreement with Netherlands-based Tobroco-Giant, Doosan has confirmed the details of the new five model range of 3.5 to 5 tonne compact wheel loaders now available from the company. Comprising the DL60-7, DL65-7, DL80-7, DL85-7 and DL80TL-7 models, the new Doosan compact wheel loaders cover a wide range of applications, including construction, agriculture, earthmoving, waste/recycling, rental, builders merchants, landscaping, materials handling, warehousing and general industry.

Just like their heavier versions in the Doosan range, the new compact wheel loaders set the industry standard for productivity, flexibility, comfort, safety and reliability. All the new machines offer a full package of modern technology features including:

• A powerful Stage V engine
• Hydrostatic 4-wheel drive
• 100% differential lock on both axles
• Versatile and powerful hydraulics
• High lift capacity with dependable stability

Power and Productivity

The DL60-7 and DL65-7 are driven by a Stage V engine providing 48.5 kW (66 HP) of power at 1600 RPM. The Stage V engine in the DL80-7, DL85-7 and DL80TL-7 provides 55 kW (75 HP) of power at 1500 RPM.

Both Stage V engines offer high-pressure fuel injection and precise timing to provide a highly efficient fuel burn and perfect combustion. The aftertreatment system is composed of an oxidation catalyst and long-life diesel particulate filter to reduce emissions without requiring SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction).

Electronic driving control ensures high driving comfort and precision and increases the thrust on the machines. In addition, various travel modes are available. The top speed in the DL60-7 and DL65-7 is 30 km/h, whilst the DL80-7, DL85-7 and DL80TL-7 have a travel speed of 35 km/h. 

The hydrostatic transmission boosts acceleration performance and delivers smooth, shock-free operation in all situations. The brake pedal provides an inching function. With no pressure on the brake pedal, full power is available for the drive system. Light pressure on the brake pedal reduces travel speed, with more engine power for the working hydraulics. When full pressure is applied to the brake pedal, the machine stands still and full engine power is available for the working hydraulics. This saves fuel and provides faster hydraulic movement.

An optional hand-throttle system can be used to set a (minimum) engine RPM. This function provides constant hydraulic power (AUX line) to be used by the connected hydraulic attachment (hydraulic motor).

As well as the hydrostatic 4-wheel drive and automotive control (Rexroth), the new Doosan compact wheel loaders feature a 100% differential lock on both axles, always providing plenty of traction, a lot of pulling force and smooth movement.

Comfort and Safety

The operator can focus on the job at hand thanks to the comfort and safety features in the cab, such as a premium, air-suspended seat as standard, the adjustable steering column and DAB radio. Air conditioning is also an option on all the models. In addition, all necessary information can easily be read from the gauge panel.

Three versions of the cab are available to meet different users’ needs with ROPS/FOPS certification. All the models are equipped with a safety roof as standard. For higher comfort, a safety roof deluxe or a fully enclosed cab are available. The use of narrow styles and a skylight gives the operator all-round visibility and an excellent view of their work to allow safe and precise operation.

All-In-One Joystick

With an all-in-one joystick included, all essential controls are always at the fingertips of the operator, allowing them to change driving direction and speed modes or adjust the differential lock with ease. Full control over the hydraulics and a spool valve memory function help increase efficiency and control even more.

The articulated pendulum joint provides a lot of stability and gives the machines a small turning radius and makes them extremely manoeuvrable and, combined with the optimal weight distribution and the compact dimensions, ensures they can operate in tight spaces. The system ensures that all four wheels remain on the ground, even when working on uneven terrain. This not only allows the operator to work safely, but always provides sufficient traction.

For extra productivity, it is possible to equip the DL80-7/DL85-7/DL80TL-7 with the patented Stabilo System. This system provides extra safety and comfort, because unevennesses are absorbed without any compromise on performance.

Truly Multipurpose

Thanks to an optional tandem pump, a double-acting spool valve in the rear, and up to three double-acting spool valves on the lift arm, the user always has enough hydraulic power at their fingertips for even the most demanding attachments and applications. A High Flow option for up to 121 l/min is also available for the DL80-7, DL85-7 and DL80TL-7 models.

To suit a truly wide range of applications, Doosan compact wheel loaders are equipped with three types of kinematics to suit preferences:

- Z-bar arm to ensure high breakout force and excellent loading heights (DL60-7 and DL80-7).

- Pull-bar arm for a lower front frame and higher lifting capacities (DL65-7 and DL85-7).

- Telescopic arm to provide maximum lifting height and reach (DL80TL-7)

All the Doosan models are equipped with a hydraulic quick coupler as standard. This makes it possible to change attachments safely and within seconds.

A wide range of attachments is available to fit to all customer needs, from the warehouse to recycling, construction, agriculture, landscaping or road maintenance, including several types of buckets, manure forks, pallet forks, push brooms, clamps, snow blades and levelling frames.

Furthermore, a wide selection of tyres also ensures customers obtain the maximum performance in their applications. Adjustable mudguards provide additional protection to keep the Doosan machines clean and safe.
