Graepels is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this coming November!

As busy people we can often forget to stop and celebrate all the achievements made throughout the years. Graepels will not just celebrate 60 years in business but 60 years of dedication and hard work from the Graepels team who have helped in the development and progression of the company and to the customers whose loyalty service we are grateful for.

Together the Graepels team have innovated, won awards, undertaken new and exciting challenges and survived economic uncertainty. From the long timers whose knowledge and expertise knows no bounds to the college students who give a hundred percent and make lasting changes, we thank our team.

COMPANY BACKGROUND
Graepels was founded in Ireland in 1959 by Harald Graepel and has since supplied a diverse range of industries throughout Ireland and abroad. We as a business are extremely proud of our Irish heritage and this is evident through our work. We have worked on a number of pieces that are of great relevance to Irish History. As 60 is such a huge milestone we have many things planned for the coming months to celebrate this huge success.

Graepels has worked with a number of talented architects and also the very talented sculptor Alex Pentek. Over the years we ourselves have seen many changes within the company and have employees that have been with us over 50 years who will be sharing their stories over the coming months. Our innovative tooling developments have allowed us to create new and exciting products and have facilitated us in our capabilities to manufacture custom designs with bespoke tooling. All of which have seen the fruition of some exciting and unique projects. Some of Graepels machines have been in Graepels since 1959, producing complex specifications and quality products in next to no time, thanks to the machines being updates and retrofitted from skilled engineers. While our newest machinery allows us push the boundaries of our fabricating abilities.

OVER THE YEARS
As a company we always try to give back to the community as much as we can and it has been our pleasure to our donate works such as The Luisitania and The Kinsale Giant. Giving when we can is hugely important to us especially when others benefit from it. Graepels have made donations to the RNLI who as a voluntary body have served over 139,000 people’s lives and rely solely on public donations. Graepels was also chosen for the Irish premiere of ‘‘How These Desperate Men Talk’’ where a group of well-known West Cork sculptors set up a unique open air metal workshop here in Kinsale. Kinsale as a community has played a huge part in our success and we are forever grateful to its people who have always gone above and beyond with support. We wouldn’t be the company we are today without this amazing town.

Graepels have had great fun over the years by getting involved in many events, projects and exhibitions such as the Red Bull Soapbox Race, Hillhead 2016, perforating Ed Sheeran into sheet metal and supporting other charities such as the Liebherr Golf Classic 2017. We have high hopes for Graepels in the future and there are many successes we wish to see for the company in 2019 and the coming years. We are looking forward to welcoming new team members by employing young, creative and talented people to give them the opportunity to bring their skills and knowledge to Graepels. This will allow them to collaborate and develop their ideas under the management of our highly skilled employees who have many years of experience in the company. This will allow employees currently working in Graepels and new employees hired to learn and acquire new skills from one and other.

This is just a snippet into 60 years in business and Graepels will have many updates in the coming months. We hope you enjoy hearing about our roots, current operations and future hopes.
