H.Thomson and Son Ltd pleased with ‘aggre-great’ screener supplied by Matpro Machinery

Matpro Machinery Ltd, a recognised provider of material processing solutions across the UK and Ireland, has successfully equipped South West Scotland’s leading tipper and mixer hire businesses, H. Thomson and Son Ltd, with a brand-new Anaconda DF 410 tracked screener. The versatile mobile tracked screener will help process a wide range of aggregates and topsoil for the ‘Gravel, Sand and Aggregates’ division of this diverse operations.

Based in Glenluce, not far from Stranraer, H. Thomson and Son Ltd has grown from a small dairy farm to a now UK renowned, specialist hire provider. The family-run business operates 20 vehicles from its headquarters in Glenluce including; tipper trucks, concrete mixers, road sweepers, artic units with bulk trailers and a single grab lorry. All vehicles are available on both short and long-term hire, and the company takes considerable pride in delivering exceptional customer service and cost-effective solutions for its nationwide client base. Despite tipper and mixer hire being its core business, H. Thomson and Sons Ltd has further diversified into the decorative aggregates market for both domestic and commercial clients which led to the purchase of an Anaconda DF410 tracked screener.

The DF410 tracked screener by Anaconda Equipment International has been built for the most demanding of applications. It is a market-leading entry level scalper designed for optimum screening and stockpiling of materials, with the largest screen box in the compact screening segment of the market. This double deck, vibrating screen box allows for the accurate and consistent sizing of fines, mid-size and oversize materials. The DF410 is also ideally suited to compact urban spaces and can get through tonnages of upto 300TPH.

Chris Thomson, Director at H. Thomson and Sons Ltd commented;
“When considering a new screener, we had a few in mind and our decision was made from a variety of factors such as value for money and specification of the unit, in particular a large screening area. I also went with Matpro due to their excellent customer service. From pricing & information through to commissioning, they were consistently helpful and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend the to anyone.”

Talking about the Anaconda’s DF410’s performance, Chris Thomson further commented;
“The Anaconda DF410 mobile screener has helped us massively. Our previous, miniature screener was only helping us process approximately 20 tonnes an hour, where as this machine is now helping us to process upto 300 Tonnes an hour– there’s no comparison! From top soil to aggregates, it consistently performs from one day to the next.”
