JCB Electric Mini helps customer win new contracts

Leading hirer Johnson Plant is celebrating after its purchase of a new JCB electric mini excavator helped the company secure a host of new contracts.

The Esher-based firm, established to supply plant to sister company Landmark Groundworks, became one of the very first customers to buy the pioneering, fully electric excavator soon after it was launched by JCB.

The zero emissions, ultra-quiet 19C-1E model - supplied by dealer Greenshields JCB - has helped Johnson Plant to win several contracts and continues to impress with its powerful performance.

Johnson Plant’s Director, Jake Johnson said: “Staying ahead of emissions regulations is one of the toughest challenges facing plant hirers. Clients and local authorities have increasingly stringent environmental policies and site restrictions. By investing in this zero emissions JCB machine, it guarantees we can operate on any site, no matter the location or legislation it is governed by.

“We have complete faith in JCB so we were happy to take one of the very first electric mini machines and we have been delighted ever since. Every operator is shocked by the power of the machine which stacks up favourably with traditional diesel alternatives. Our clients love having the low noise, zero emissions machines on their site and it helps us to get contracts over the line. I think we will see a lot more of these on developments across the country.

“JCB and JCB Finance helped my father start the business when no one else would. That brings a special loyalty and we have stuck with JCB ever since. The quality products and the service from Greenshields JCB are what keeps us coming back.
