JCB on the starting grid for French Grand Prix support

A fleet of JCB machines will be in pole position for trackside support when this weekend’s Formula One French Grand Prix revs into action.

Twelve JCB Loadalls and Teletruks have been specially commissioned by the track at Le Castellet, near Marseilles to provide safety back up around the circuit. The fleet will be strategically placed to rescue any Formula One cars that break down or spin off over the race weekend from Friday June 22nd to Sunday June 24th.

The trackside support machines further strengthen JCB’s association with the dynamic world of motorsport following a second successful season sponsoring Williams Martini Racing. JCB also supplies the Oxfordshire-based team with a host of other items to ensure the Williams Martini Racing team is race ready at every European circuit this summer.

A JCB Teletruk telescopic forklift offloads race components, a S1930E scissor lift helps with the safe construction of the team’s spectacular three-story ‘motorhome’ and two JCB G150RS generators provide power for the motorhome which is kitted out with meeting rooms, rest facilities and an exclusive rooftop hospitality suite.

JCB Head of Sponsorship Edd Hood said: “The JCB brand has a strong reputation throughout Europe and, with our Williams Martini Racing partnership, a great understanding of the demands of Formula One so it makes perfect sense for us to provide this professional trackside back up service.

“Our Loadall and Teletruk machines are industry leading multi-taskers – easily strong enough to lift any Formula One car out of danger yet equally at home on construction sites and farms. We are delighted to support the Le Castellet team as they host the first French Grand Prix in a decade.”
