Pneumatic Conveying short courses for Industry.

Identification of components of pneumatic conveying systems, system selection and design techniques.Join experts at the Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology at the University of Greenwich as they present their popular basic and advanced pneumatic conveying short courses.

Each course take place in Chatham, Kent at the Wolfson Centre premises and gives delegates the opportunity to speak to the experts and network with other attendees.

Pneumatic conveying of Bulk Solids; 30 April – 1 May 2024
A basic course looking at system components, design techniques, operation and control of blow tank systems, explosion hazards, operational problems as well as the often-neglected area of interfacing storage bins with conveying systems.

Attendees are also invited to join the Practical Workshop on 2 May, where some of the theory aspects are demonstrated in our on-site Pilot Plant.

Pneumatic Conveying System Design; 5 – 6 June 2024
An advanced course guiding delegates through the processes on how to obtain pipeline designs that work reliably, delivering the required throughput without unplanned maintenance and adverse impact on quality of the powder being handled.

Troubleshooting ‘Hands-on’ Pneumatic Conveying Systems (including Commissioning)
25 - 26 September 2024
A look at the practical challenges of starting up systems on site and making sure they work as the designer intended.

These courses are led by Mike Bradley, Professor of Bulk and Particulate Technologies and Director of The Wolfson Centre. He has worked internationally on design and troubleshooting for bulk solids handling as a commercial consultant and research expert for over twenty-five years. He will be aided by Dr Atul Sharma, whose interests lie in the transportation of bulk materials.

Who should attend?
All courses are written with the engineer in mind.  They are recommended for operators who handle bulk materials daily, for maintenance, Health & Safety officers, plant or equipment designers and manufacturers, or management of such staff. Anyone who handles any form of bulk material could benefit from attending.
