Powerscreen launches the new Chieftain 2200 3 deck screen at Hillhead

Powerscreen, one of the world’s leading providers of mobile crushing and screening equipment will launch the Chieftain™ 2200 3 Deck screen at Hillhead 2016. The Powerscreen® Chieftain™ 2200 3 Deck features two screenboxes and offers optimum performance with even the tightest aggregates.
Powerscreen customer JPE Earth and Aggregate solutions, tested the Chieftain 2200 3 Deck in England Steve Birch, JPE Site Director said: “The Chieftain 2200 3 Deck machine has proven itself to be an aggressive screen. The versatility of the machine is fantastic. It has doubled the processing of JPE’s gravel rich overburden waste material and has the capability to recover 25% gravel content out of this feed. The clean rock sand also produced has the added benefit of then being sold as a ‘filler’ to the local brick industry, therefore minimising the waste onsite. Overall we are very happy with the performance of the Chieftain 2200 3 deck screen.”
Commenting on the launch of the new machine at Hillhead, Stephen McCartney, Powerscreen International Sales Director said, “Following on from the success of the Chieftain 2200 2 deck, we are very excited to launch the 3 deck screen at Hillhead. With a massive benefit of a quick set-up time of typically under 30 minutes, hydraulically folding conveyors and track mobility. Its high aggression screenboxes can handle dirty, sticky material with ease. Attendees to Hillhead will have the opportunity to see this highly diverse screen in action in the demonstration area.”
The Powerscreen Chieftain 2200 3 deck is designed for operators who require large volumes of high specification products with maximum versatility. It has a high capacity of up to 700 tph/770 US tph, leading to an increase in quality product and revenue; as well as a revolutionary patent pending drive system which allows switching between 2 and 4 bearing with bolt-on parts. With a 4 bearing box, the efficiency of the screen can drop as the box length increases. The box also can become susceptible to torsion, which twists the metal and can cause fatigue. By splitting up into two individual boxes, the Chieftain 2200 3 deck is able to run aggressively without the constraints of a larger box.
The Chieftain 2200 3 deck can screen with a 20% increase in G-force compared to similar screens with the same surface area. The maximum variability of the machine, offers improved capabilities over its class rivals, especially when trying to make high specification aggregate. It’s two highly versatile, 3 deck screenboxes provide a total screening area of 19.5m2.
The Chieftain 2200 3 Deck offers the ability to run two smaller screenboxes in a more aggressive setup which is not limited by the forces experienced with longer screenboxes. The tumbling action between the screens helps to maximize efficiency of the screens and accuracy of the product, especially at the close size materials.
