Terex Ecotec celebrates a decade of success at Global Dealer Conference
Terex® Ecotec—industry leader in the design and manufacture of wood processing,
biomass, and recycling equipment—celebrated 10 years of innovative environmental
solutions during their Global Dealer Conference, which took place from 27-29 September
2023 in Northern Ireland. Over 100 distributors and customers from across Australia, New
Zealand, North America, Taiwan, and Europe were in attendance, a testament to the growth
in global footprint of the brand over the past decade.
Under the theme ‘Our Journey Continues…’ the conference highlighted current product
portfolio and future product roadmap, support available for distributors, as well as the
investment and expansion of Terex Campsie—the heart of the brand’s operations. Tony
Devlin, former Business Line Director of Terex Ecotec, and now VP of Terex Environmental
businesses commented, "Our journey over the past decade has been nothing short of
incredible. We’ve achieved a lot over those 10 years; and while we’ve built a very impressive
portfolio, we’re not finished yet—we have so much more to come. We owe our success to
the hard work, dedication, and unwavering support of our distribution network. As we
celebrate this significant milestone, we also look forward to the opportunities and challenges
that the future holds. Together, our journey continues, and we remain committed to providing
sustainable environmental solutions to a changing world."
An interesting element of the conference was a Q&A session between Terex Financial
Solutions (TFS) and Dougie Watt from Quarry and Recycling Solutions Ltd (QRS),
explaining how he developed and expanded his business through the support of TFS.
Another key highlight was the History Timeline video, which took attendees on a visual
journey showcasing pivotal moments and product launches over the past 10 years.
An impressive machine line up was unveiled at Terex Campsie, with a mixture of 10
shredders, trommels, metal separators, waste handlers and conveyors on static display. The
latest Terex Ecotec machines took centre stage for live demonstrations including two TDS
815 Slow Speed Shredders processing C&D waste and waste wood; a TSS 390T Slow
Speed Shredder and TMS 315 Metal Separator processing waste wood, a TBG 530T High
Speed Shredder and TTS 620T Trommel processing green waste; and a Phoenix 2100T
Trommel processing soil. All machines were fed using waste handlers from the Terex Ecotec
range and included the TWH 220, TWH 226 and TWH 228. Attendees were also provided
with a factory tour to witness first-hand the advanced technology and craftmanship that goes
into each, and every machine produced.
Along with the main conference agenda, attendees were treated to a memorable welcome
reception at The Ivory Pavilion set within the grounds of the historic Galgorm Castle, where
they received an exquisite spread of local food and drink, including samples from the worldfamous Bushmills Distillery. The second evening saw traditional Irish music and dancing
along with gala dinner and award ceremony, where Terex Ecotec recognised achievements
of its global distribution network. Five awards were presented: Best Newcomer went to
UTIROM INVEST (Romania); Best Overall Parts Performance went to Molson Group (UK);
Rental Dealer of the Year went to L’heureux (France), Dealer of the Year (North America)
News Release went to Powerscreen of California; and Dealer of the Year (Rest of World) went to Warwick Ward (machinery) Ltd. (UK).
Two ‘Spirit of Terex Ecotec’ awards went out to individuals who contributed greatly to the
success of Terex Ecotec over the past decade. The first went to John Cartwright, Cartwright
Waste Disposal Services Ltd, (UK) who purchased one of the first TDS 820 Slow Speed
Shredders, which is still performing 10 years later, and has since purchased many more
Terex Ecotec machines. The second went to Ronnie Bustard – Finlay Waste & Recycling in
Australia, who was instrumental to the success of Terex Ecotec in Australia and sadly
passed away earlier this year.
“Our Global Dealer Conference was a huge success with comments from distributors stating
they appreciated the opportunity to tour our expanded facility, meet our team, see our
products and learn about our plans for the future,” said Jonathan Hanna, Business Line
Director, Terex Ecotec. “I see the next 10 years as being very bright for the Terex
Environmental businesses—Terex Ecotec is a strong part of that.”
