Double milestone at Samoter: Develon launches Series 9 and wins the Innovation Award with E-Stop technology
At Samoter 2026 in Verona, one of the most important European events for the construction equipment industry, Develon is presenting, for the first time in Italy, its new intelligent crawler excavators: the 37-tonne DX360LC-9 and the 42-tonne DX400HD-9. These two models are part of the new Series 9 range, symbolizing a major evolutionary leap that redefines industry standards.
This is not just a technological upgrade, but a true revolution. With Series 9, Develon reinforces its role as an innovation pioneer, anticipating market needs and leading the industry’s transformation toward an increasingly digital, automated and high-performance future.
The DX360LC-9 is centrestage in the outdoor Digital Construction Site area, showcasing Develon’s groundbreaking E-Stop safety technology, Winner of the Samoter Innovation Award 2026. The system is designed to enhance operator protection and reduce on-site risks through intelligent interaction between the machine and its working environment. The DX400HD-9, on the other hand, will be displayed statically at the Develon stand as a benchmark for the new generation of high-capacity excavators.
Alongside the Series 9 innovations, the stand will offer a comprehensive overview of the Develon lineup: from the latest version of the DA30-7 articulated dumper with a new redesigned cab, to the compact demolition excavator, the DX140RDM-7, the DD130-7 dozer, recently joined by the new smaller DD100-7 model, the DL420CVT-7 wheel loader with continuously variable transmission, ideal for quarrying and construction with a strong focus on fuel efficiency, and a range of mini excavators comprising the DX27Z-7K, DX55R-7, and DX85R-7 models.
DX360LC-9 and DX400HD-9 – Intelligent Excavators with Innovative Design
Series 9 represents a technological leap over previous generations, thanks to a completely redesigned platform based on Full Electric Hydraulic (FEH) technology and integrated artificial intelligence. The goal is to improve not only machine performance but also overall jobsite efficiency by acting on three key elements: the engine, the hydraulic system and operator comfort—optimizing fuel consumption, precision and the quality of human-machine interaction.
The new DX360LC-9 and DX400HD-9 expand Develon’s revolutionary Series 9 intelligent crawler excavator range, alongside the DX230LC-9 and DX260LC-9 models.
The DX360LC-9 is powered by the Develon DX08V engine, delivering 227 kW (304 HP) at 1,800 rpm (SAE J1995), designed to ensure consistent power and immediate response even in the most demanding work cycles. With a maximum torque of 1230 kgf/m at 1,300 rpm, it reaches a maximum digging depth (standard arm) of 7,512 mm and a maximum reach of 11,113 mm—making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
The newly introduced Develon DX08V engine—replacing the previous Scania unit—is also at the heart of the DX400HD-9. Here, thanks to a two-stage turbocharger, it delivers 254 kW (341 HP) at 1,800 rpm (SAE J1995) and a maximum torque of 1460 kgf/m at 1,300 rpm. Once again, digging performance remains at the top of its class, with 7,512 mm depth and 11,113 mm maximum reach.

One of the most revolutionary innovations in the Series 9 excavators is the E-Stop technology, which places jobsite safety at the forefront. It features a new Smart Around View Monitor (SAVM) camera system that uses artificial intelligence to detect people within the working area. Combined with a new radar system capable of detecting objects up to 6 metres away, the machine can automatically trigger an intelligent E-Stop to slow down and/or stop rotation and movement if a person is detected in the danger zone.
This solution, regarded as highly innovative and pioneering in the sector, has received an important recognition: Develon is proud to announce that E-Stop technology has won the Samoter Innovation Award 2026, confirming its role as a benchmark in the development of advanced safety systems for the construction sites of the future.
DA30-7 Articulated Dump Truck – Comfort and Control for the Operator
Another key highlight of Develon’s presence at Samoter is the evolution of the new cab for the company’s articulated dump truck (ADT) range, designed to maximize comfort, productivity and safety. Introduced on the updated DA30-7 model, the new cab reflects Develon’s belief that operator well-being is essential for machine efficiency and overall performance, offering a work environment suited for long and demanding shifts.
The cab provides improved ergonomics, enhanced visibility and a fully updated control interface. The new 12-inch high-resolution touchscreen allows quick and intuitive access to all operational information, including cameras, machine parameters and customized settings, helping operators make faster, more informed decisions.
DX140RDM-7 – Strength and Compactness in Demolition
Develon further strengthens its position as a trusted partner for specialized applications by developing increasingly targeted solutions for complex environments such as demolition. The DX140RDM-7, a 14-tonne excavator, is designed to meet the needs of urban job sites and controlled demolition applications. It offers maximum transportability and operational flexibility in confined spaces without compromising power and stability.
Its modular boom configuration allows quick switching between digging and demolition modes, optimizing time and productivity. It also features a tilting cab (up to 30 degrees) for optimal visibility during high-reach operations, and a hydraulically extendable undercarriage that ensures greater stability (up to 3.7 m), which can be reduced to 2.5 m for easier transport.
DD130-7 - Visibility and Precision in Grading Work
With the DD130-7 dozer, Develon provides a wide range of features, offering an efficient solution for precision finishing in residential and light construction projects. One of its key advantages over other brands is its excellent blade visibility: the compact engine compartment design gives the operator a clearer view of the working area, improving precision and control.
To further enhance visibility and safety, the machine includes a standard rearview camera and an 8-inch Smart Touch display showing the surrounding area in real time. High-intensity LED lighting systems and four premium wipers ensure reliable operation even in challenging conditions. Comfort is further enhanced by a suspended seat that moves in sync with the joysticks via an air suspension system, absorbing vibrations.
DL420CVT-7 - Greater Productivity and Versatility
The DL420CVT-7 is the first of the four largest models in Develon’s DL-7 wheel loader range, which also include the DL480-7, DL550-7 and DL580-7. Designed for quarrying, construction, and material handling applications, the DL420CVT stands out for its continuously variable transmission, making it easy to operate and increasingly popular among aggregate plants for its optimal balance of power, efficiency and load capacity.
The newly redesigned buckets offer up to a 7% increase in capacity, enabling faster and easier loading with a maximum volume of 4.5 m³. Overall, the eleven DL-7 wheel loaders in the Develon range, with bucket capacities starting from 2.0 m³, ensure higher productivity across a wide range of material handling applications.
Mini Excavators – Power in a Compact Format
The Stage V-compliant Develon Series 7 mini excavators on display at Samoter include the recently updated 2.8-tonne DX27Z-7K, the 5.7-tonne DX55R-7, and the 8-tonne DX85R-7.
