TURMEC – WORLD LEADERS IN RECYCLING SOLUTIONS.

A world without landfill! Turmec is determined to lead the way in reducing waste diversion from landfills. By executing this vision through all levels of our organisation, the company is recognised as the market leader in recycling solutions in the world and its plants have diverted over 43 million tonnes of waste away from landfills across the world up until 2019.

Turmec first opened its doors in 1972 in the Gaeltacht at Rathcairn, Co. Meath, Ireland and have evolved through the timescape from manufacturing scaffolding (the late 70's), aquamarine products, boats and peat processing equipment (80's), Moffett and ESB (in the '90s) and in early 2001 Turmec started focusing its efforts in becoming leaders in the recycling industry.

With over 45 years of experience in the engineering and recycling industries, Turmec is now a world leader in recycling solutions for the global waste industry, providing bespoke systems that enable its customers to efficiently recover high-quality material from waste, reducing the need for landfills.

Turmec aims to provide the most cost-effective and high-quality solutions and, as part of its renowned aftersales support, the company also provide full training to our clients and their staff, ensuring the smooth running of any installations, plant or solutions provided.
The most unique point about Turmec is that there are not many companies in the market offering bespoke solutions, with full control of all its services in-house. Turmec is the market leader in turnkey recycling solutions and plant upgrades, exceeding its clients’ requirements, delivering exceptional equipment and offering unparalleled aftersales support.

Waste is an ever-changing industry which means Turmec must be constantly innovating and evolving, to continuously offer its clients the best solutions to their needs keeping them ahead of current legislation and marketplace driven KPIs. From the first-ever bottom ash collection system to generate energy from waste in Ireland to an innovative dry and wet hybrid state of the art recycling plant in Australia; the company invests considerably into R&D and have gone into production on new technologies, to be launched in 2020.
Turmec opened an office in the UK in 2018, and in 2019 in Australia and the company's recognition can be measured on its longevity, the level of contracts won and its clients' achievements - such as increase on recycling capability and turnover, waste tax reduction and worldwide awards received by plants designed and manufactured by Turmec.

Turmec's clients benefit from its bespoke recycling systems and such, they then cement their positions in the market - examples of this are ETM, Powerday, Thorntons Recycling, AES, Hills, Central Waste Station, Biffa, Suez and Bingo among others, all market leaders as a result of the investment they made through Turmec which allowed them to grow and recycle more.

Turmec is ISO 9001-accredited, along with several other industry accreditations across quality, environment and health and safety, which reflects the company’s ongoing and consistent commitment to providing its clients with the best solution, service and support.
Turmec has also been recognized as Medium Size Exporter of the Year 2018, finalists again in 2019, named as Green Ambassador and Business of the Year in the MBTA 2019 and is now a finalist in the IMR Manufacturing and Supply Chain Awards 2019 in the SME Manufacturing Company category.
